Tang’s King Lear is a non-verbal theatre transcending the boundaries of Shakespeare’s plays.

Rejected by his other daughters, Lear descends into madness and wanders amidst a storm. Cordelia attempts to save him with an army, but they ultimately perish in battle, sealing Lear's tragic fate.

Tang, acclaimed internationally, brings a unique interpretation to London's stage, blending Shakespearean themes with non-verbal storytelling. This rendition promises to transcend traditional boundaries while retaining the core essence of Shakespeare's work.

Featuring an all-female cast from Hong Kong and the National Theatre Marin Sorescu of Craiova, the production aims to deliver a fresh and provocative take on the classic tragedy.

See it if you know King Lear well and are intrigued to see a movement based, non-verbal version. Every tiny move here is deliberate and planned.

Don't see it if you are unfamiliar with the plot (unless you're happy to just let the action wash over you). You don't like slow theatre. Read more
