Don't see it if You want an 100% accurate retelling of a WW2 story. The show has tried to stay as historically accurate as they can, it is still a comedy.

"What the show has in winning spades ... is a Pythonesque delight in irreverence that doesn’t short-change the intellect, delineating the journeys each character goes on, the social transformation the war engendered, and the pathos attending the macabre plot."

"This would have been a five-star review had there not been a slight dimming of energy in an overextended second half that included a cheeky reference to King Charles’s crown and sceptre. My only other complaint is that at times it’s not possible to catch all of the intricate, fast-moving lyrics."
