Want to see some of London's best theatre shows without paying full price? Day seats are just the ticket (see what we did there)!

What are day seats?

Day seats are tickets that are sold close to the performance date at a fraction of their usual cost. You'll either have to pay an in-person visit to the theatre's box office or join a virtual day seat queue online to purchase them. They are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and the seats are typically located in the front row of the stalls, though this varies from show to show.

Here're a few pointers on how to get your hands on some delicious day seats:

  • You'll need to be one of the first people in the physical or virtual queue to secure your day seats, so plan accordingly!
  • Some shows sell their day seats for performances occurring that day, others release day seats for their entire week's worth performances in on go - be sure to check your preferred show's policies!
  • Be mindful that day seats for weekend performances tend to be the most sought after - especially when certain cast members are set to take their final bow, or a show is about to close.
  • Be sure to check the maximum number of tickets available to purchase - most shows only allow you to buy 2 day seats per customer.
  • Be sure you're purchasing tickets for the right show title, date & time - especially on days where there are matinee (afternoon) and evening performances! Vendors usually cannot exchange or refund day seats once they have been purchased!
