See it if You enjoy political/historical dramas/thrillers and are the type to read more about the suggested events after the play.

Don't see it if You dislike anything having to do with politics/war, or aren't drawn to historical works.

See it if you don't want to miss one of the most original pieces of theatre around. Truly, truly an immersive, inventive, and beautiful evening.

Don't see it if you crave too much structure. I sometimes found myself making up a story, then chastising myself for not being fully present.

See it if You like clever original shows and be right there with the actors as tho you're in the room with them. All done without talking!

Don't see it if You're looking for a classic play on a classic stage. If you don't like theatre in the round, seeing the audience opposite you.

See it if you LOVE great theatre. It's a very old story but told in such a fresh, original way. I knew how it was going to end, but it still held me!

Don't see it if you are looking for big sets and large production values. This one is all about the story, the music and the performances. Small - intimate!

See it if Captivating, energetic revival of a classic Yiddish theater operetta from 1923. Vocals were out of this world; cast exuded joy & delight.

Don't see it if There are English and Russian subtitles projected above; personally, this enhanced my enjoyment. Plot was pure silliness; a fun evening!

Brilliantly imaginative two hander linking disparate victims of terrorist kidnappings
August 13th, 2016

See it if You seek creative, richly imaginative, stunnigly well acted, original drama that is both intellectually stimulating & emotionally involving

Don't see it if you prefer to avoid a discomforting immersion into pain & fear. Still author Cassie Seinuk's brilliance demands and rewards our attention.

See it if You are fearless about confronting the legacy of racial prejudice in America. Or if you love horror films, or Neo-Futurists.

Don't see it if You think you run the world (no offence, Beyoncé). But even if that's you, you will learn something here.

See it if fantastic cast. clever take on gossip culture. incisively humorous and at times moving. creative and engaging use of movement and props.

Don't see it if the energy of some cast members can be a little too much/over the top at times. I love the Bedlam style, but that may not be for everyone

Don't see it if If American History doesn't interest you especially back stories of the Civil war

See it if You want to fall in love with a variety of painfully flawed characters and let them break your heart.

Don't see it if You don't like a meditative theater experience, or don't have patience for subtlety or slow progression in theater.

See it if you want to see a wonderful score performed by a superb cast in a way that makes you feel for this classic musical in an entirely new way.

Don't see it if don't like musicals that have a darker side that makes you feel something or if you don't like choreography-heavy musicals.

See it if you like plays that really put you in an unfamiliar world and let you sit with really well-drawn characters.

December 25th, 2016

See it if you like Edward Gorey's work, are interested in a show about an eccentric artist/author's life, are interested in the life of a gay man

Don't see it if you don't like biopics or intimate venues. It's a charming show, well acted by 3 actors, in a nice, small theater.

See it if you like smaller musicals about human beings with complicated, if undramatic, lives. You like ensemble shows and great music.

Don't see it if you dislike ensemble shows and small stories. You need all the story lines to be wrapped up at the end. You don't like seeing the musicians.

See it if You've never seen the show, Radio City or the Rockettes live before, and just want to be thrilled by a talented cast and lots of spectacle.

Don't see it if Too cool for this type show, aren't impressed with precision dancing, want something serious. This is a VERY New York Xmas experience. Go 1X
