See it if You enjoy informative, insightful, witty presentations mixed with history and sociology, and stirred with good performances.

Don't see it if If your membership in AA conflicts with the topic of the show, you don't want to think and have fun at the same time.

See it if You are a Horton Foote fan or someone who likes coversational plays. To see masterful performances. The title says it all.

Don't see it if You cannot pay attention to quick patter. You do not like plays that take time to unravel the story. You do not like plays from the 1920s.

Sergeant Peril gave Marie and Rosetta a 89

Great singing, Delightful, Enchanting, Important history

See it if Illuminating view of a super-important musical relationship between two seminal gospel/rock singers. Amazing singing, dramatic surprises.

Don't see it if A good script but not theatrically as complex as you may want. The depth is sacrificed for the number of songs. But it's worth it.

Absorbing, Relevant, Resonant, Thought-provoking

See it if you like taut, lean adaptations of classics. I was amazed that Harrower pared Ibsen down to 90 minutes but kept the punch. Entirely relevant

Don't see it if you expect lots of action, you don't have tolerance for exposition, you like your Ibsen uncut or you're uncomfy w/ audience participation.

Mama Rose gave Small Mouth Sounds a 86

Entertaining, Great acting, Refreshing

See it if You are interested in a show that is personal and sometimes surprisingly touching. Great characters. Beautiful direction.

Don't see it if Minimal (almost no) dialogue bothers you. Full frontal male nudity is an issue. Or limited neck mobility for the long runway style stage.

Brad Pontius gave Avenue Q (NYC) a 90

90
Hilarious, Entertaining, Quirky, Raunchy, Relevant
September 28th, 2016

See it if you want a hilarious adult version of Sesame Street. Surprisingly good commentary on adult subjects.

Don't see it if It's 'inappropriate'. That shouldn't be surprising, but definitely not an all-family show. Probably best not to bring the kids.

Andrew 4 gave Love, Love, Love a 79

Ambitious, Funny, Absorbing, Clever, Unnerving

See it if you're a fan of the superb Amy Ryan, enjoy multi-generation family stories over 30+ years, like British atmosphere & people behaving badly

Don't see it if you find it hard to relate to extremely self-absorbed people, don't like anything about the 60's, whining and privilege turn you off
