Fluffy, Great singing, Disappointing, Cliched, Ambitious

See it if you like Neil Dimond's repertory & want to hear it sung beautifully, fan of Will Swenson & Mark Jacoby, want to learn a tad more about him

Don't see it if you expect an in depth look at the singer's life, want to see a musical with travail & triumph, don't like sing-alongs

Delightful, Great staging, Great singing, Entertaining, Clever

See it if you like to watch a musical version of Neil Diamond's life and career. Two actors portray him, past and present. Well acted and sung.

Don't see it if you like good choreography. For a Broadway show the background dancers were not top quality and choreography was simple at best. Read more

See it if you like Neil Diamond or if you are new to his music. Will Swenson is perfection in the role.Supporting cast is terrific.Choreo is very good.

Don't see it if you don't like Neil Diamond, are looking for a serious musical, or don't like bio-musicals. This is fun. Nothing earth shattering.Just fun.

See it if You are a senior + Diamond was a part of your teen and 20/30s years. You like musicals that are more than just earsplitting noise !

Don't see it if You aren’t familiar with Diamond and his music, it will not mean very much to you. Read more

Tourist-fare with (semi-wasted) talent, Energetic, Muddled / ill-paced in places, Enjoyable and entertaining, For a select crowd of fans

See it if you're a fan of Neil Diamond and his music, Will Swensen (who’s channeling Diamond so faithfully), or “jukebox bio-musicals.”

Don't see it if uninterested in Diamond’s life and music, tired of the now-ubiquitous jukebox musical, and/or desiring something deep and dramatic. Read more

"It all looks and sounds great, but the clock is ticking — therapy! — and we are no closer to understanding the real Neil."

Time Out New York

" 'A Beautiful Noise' is a suitable tribute to him; in its biggest numbers it resembles an old-school Vegas-style impersonation show, recreating concert moments for the benefit of an audience that is happy to embark on a musical nostalgia trip."

"The thing is, there’s just not much of a show there. The show and the audience aren’t here for the storm clouds, they’re here for the good times, which never seemed so good."

"Those going to 'A Beautiful Noise' want to be entertained and entertained they will be. It very well might be a long-running hit like that musical, especially considering Diamond's popularity. It's just too bad it leaves you wanting more."

The Wall Street Journal

"This smoothly produced show’s presentation of his semi-symphonic rock and sentimental balladry failed to convert me. I’m still not a believer...'A Beautiful Noise' merely underscores the truth that, to tweak the cliché, beauty is in the ear of the listener."

"This sloppy Broadway embrace of Neil Diamond is a jukebox musical in search of a plot."
