Intelligent, Great acting, Absorbing, Slow, Insipid

During previews
Great acting, Great staging, Deliberate (some say slow), Intelligent

See it if you want dialogue-driven drama re marital infidelity & friendships. No real sets or costumes: focus is words, characters, relationships.

Don't see it if you're not prepared to listen & look. Spare staging (excellent use of turntable) forces focus on what characters say & how they stand/move.

Intelligent, Great writing, Great staging, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you're a fan of great acting in a classic drama

Don't see it if you are not a fan of Pinter or don't like plays that run 90 minutes with no intermission

During previews
Outdated, Insipid

See it if You want to see Pinter’s work, even not have to be one of his best.

Don't see it if You’re not a fan of play or have seen too many good plays.

Also Everything of this play is just mediocre, not bad but not good either.

During previews
Intense, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You want to be immersed in 90 minutes of drama masterfully handled by three actors. They are all a dream to watch onstage.

Don't see it if You are looking for a grand scale spectacle of a play like Harry Potter.

During previews
Intelligent, Intense, Relevant, Thought-provoking, Absorbing

See it if You want a show that makes you think and feel. Jamie Lloyd is a brilliant director and the three leads are very strong.

Don't see it if You want to see a grand spectacle with light/fluffy plot. Set is minimal and the play focuses on dialogue. Dark humor, by no means happy.

for a previous production ★★★★★ "The star power certainly works, but it's just one aspect of the brilliance of this last instalment. Lloyd's direction, combined with the depths of the intricacies of the text, is enough to make the show a well-rounded success of its own."
