Slow, Great acting, Disappointing

See it if You want to look at some eye-candy for an hour and a half. These actors are all gorgeous. Their work is terrific.

Don't see it if No amount of great acting can overcome this slow as molasses show. I don't care about any of these characters.

Great acting, Great writing, Slow, Resonant, Riveting

See it if You enjoy serious works exploring infidelity and betrayal. The subtle interactions between three characters is enough to hold your interest.

Don't see it if You don’t like talky works. Hit & miss staging. You’re going to see Loki & Daredevil (and expecting them to fight.)

Also I enjoyed Betrayal a lot. It’s a well acted production of an intense, ... Read more Read less

Slow, Absorbing, Great acting

See it if You are intrigued by a story of friendship and betrayal between three characters, from beginning to end (or end to beginning.)

Don't see it if You’re put off by minimal sets, plays that require a lot of focus, don’t have much action, unconventional timelines.

Also I was fascinated by Betrayal. I enjoyed the concentration on the chara... Read more Read less

Must see, Masterful, Great writing, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You enjoy a masterful classic drama well staged, well acted, well written. Slow and calculating in its purpose. Intelligent and absorbing

Don't see it if You dislike slow moving dramas with an occasional giggle. If you have hearing problems and/or trouble understanding British accents, be sure

Also in its delivery. As the Brits may summarize, just “brilliant”.... Read more Read less

Outdated, Insipid

See it if You want to see Pinter’s work, even doesn't have to be one of his best.

Don't see it if You’re not a fan of play or have seen too many good plays.

Also Everything of this play is just mediocre, not bad but not good either.

Great writing, Riveting, Great staging, Absorbing

See it if / to see the master of subtext well played. I loved watching the characters think, which says something about a piece that is not a film.

Don't see it if you want bells and whistles (or even a set!), or something flashy; you're not a Pinter fan. This won't make you one, I don't think! Pause.

Misdirected, Minimalist, Overrated, Disappointing

See it if You think the British have corner on producing Pinter, think again. The pauses are there, but they lack meaning. Extreme minimalism. Dull.

Don't see it if You don’t expect to hear the actors to mumble, see a funny and insightful play with few laughs and insights, and like British imports.

Funny, Entertaining, Slow, Great acting, Cliched

See it if you want a play with a strong cast (Tom Hiddleston is a stand out) where the comedy lies in the subtle tones, expressions, and pauses.

Don't see it if you enjoy fast-paced plays or expect a lot of drama in a play about infidelity.

Equivocal, Ambiguous, Intense, Slow, Thought-provoking

See it if you want to see talented actors unfold their stories of deceit, lies, and emotions leaving unanswered questions. The pace can be very slow.

Don't see it if you do not want to concentrate watching the story of betrayal reveal itself. Also if you are expecting a face paced action and dialogue.

Also Periods of silence, facial expressions, body expressions convey though... Read more Read less

See it if you like: Tom Hiddleston (he is brilliant); a well written drama about relationships; great acting by the 3 leads; and an absorbing story.

Don't see it if don't like: a small cast, bare-boned production; a slow moving drama; a show without an intermission (runs 90 minutes); non-linear plots.

3/5 Stars "Pinter's bone-dry, stiff-lipped tale of infidelity relies upon the audience's faith: It effectively asks that we take its word that these characters are interesting, and invest in them accordingly. But what if we don't? What if these three people...what if they merely bore us?"
