See it if You want to look at some eye-candy for an hour and a half. These actors are all gorgeous. Their work is terrific.
Don't see it if No amount of great acting can overcome this slow as molasses show. I don't care about any of these characters.
See it if You enjoy serious works exploring infidelity and betrayal. The subtle interactions between three characters is enough to hold your interest.
Don't see it if You don’t like talky works. Hit & miss staging. You’re going to see Loki & Daredevil (and expecting them to fight.)
See it if You are intrigued by a story of friendship and betrayal between three characters, from beginning to end (or end to beginning.)
Don't see it if You’re put off by minimal sets, plays that require a lot of focus, don’t have much action, unconventional timelines.
See it if You enjoy a masterful classic drama well staged, well acted, well written. Slow and calculating in its purpose. Intelligent and absorbing
Don't see it if You dislike slow moving dramas with an occasional giggle. If you have hearing problems and/or trouble understanding British accents, be sure
See it if / to see the master of subtext well played. I loved watching the characters think, which says something about a piece that is not a film.
Don't see it if you want bells and whistles (or even a set!), or something flashy; you're not a Pinter fan. This won't make you one, I don't think! Pause.
See it if You think the British have corner on producing Pinter, think again. The pauses are there, but they lack meaning. Extreme minimalism. Dull.
Don't see it if You don’t expect to hear the actors to mumble, see a funny and insightful play with few laughs and insights, and like British imports.
See it if An interesting, well-told story with no frills and fine performances. Marvelous staging brings all the subtleties out of the shadows.
Don't see it if Deliberately slow. Don't enjoy Pinter. Saw it in England. Prefer plays with pep.
See it if you want a play with a strong cast (Tom Hiddleston is a stand out) where the comedy lies in the subtle tones, expressions, and pauses.
Don't see it if you enjoy fast-paced plays or expect a lot of drama in a play about infidelity.
See it if you want to see talented actors unfold their stories of deceit, lies, and emotions leaving unanswered questions. The pace can be very slow.
Don't see it if you do not want to concentrate watching the story of betrayal reveal itself. Also if you are expecting a face paced action and dialogue.
See it if you like: Tom Hiddleston (he is brilliant); a well written drama about relationships; great acting by the 3 leads; and an absorbing story.
Don't see it if don't like: a small cast, bare-boned production; a slow moving drama; a show without an intermission (runs 90 minutes); non-linear plots.
See it if you like great acting, intense subjects dealt with in minimal dialogue and are a Pinter fan waiting for an excellent production of Betrayal.
Don't see it if you want elaborate stage sets, don't like the spareness of Pinter plays and want to see a large cast.
See it if For the clever script and though provoking material about relationships, including best friends. Still thinking about this days later.
Don't see it if You are going for the star actors. They were good, but you have to really appreciate the material.
