See it if you want to see the best concert ever staged. The music, staging, cast, themes and technical design are masterful.

Quirky, Intelligent, Great staging, Exquisite, Entertaining

See it if you always wanted to see David Byrne in concert. The HBO movie is one thing; it's quite another to be in the same room with that energy.

Don't see it if you don't know or understand David Byrne's new wave & world music sound. It's not boilerplate Broadway. It's art.

See it if This show is AMAZING! Full of life with so much amazing musicianship!

Don't see it if You like a traditional show - this is unique and more of a concert feel. Its not a concert, there is a story but the vibe is full of energy

"5/5 stars...The soundscape is gorgeous, lyrics landing with bell-like clarity...Of course, you expect a concert staging to be an earful. This one is, and then some. You can feel the insistent throbbing drumbeats in a way that only emanates from a live performance...Byrne’s essential onstage connections are 11 other ace performers who handle vocals, drums, strings, keyboard and movement so polished, tight and precise it could make a marching band or a rhythmic gymnastics squad each swoon."

"David Byrne’s American Utopia can be described as a theatrical concert, but let’s call it what it really is: musical therapy for emotionally traumatized audiences...If there was any justice in the world, this show would remain on Broadway forever as a respite from future crises."

"To say that there is a kinetic thrill emanating from the stage of the St. James Theatre at present is something of an understatement. What you get in David Byrne’s American Utopia is a hundred-minute jolt that stays with you long after you’ve exited onto 44th Street."

"“David Byrne’s American Utopia” is the perfect first post-pandemic theater to see. It is unlike anything you've seen before - unless you've seen IT before. It is exuberant, joyful, mesmerizing, moving, thoughtful and fun! It is also completely safe. Vaccinations, ID and masks required."
