About the show

Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip-hop infused tuner about Alexander Hamilton began at The Public Theater to rave reviews, then transferred to Broadway where it won eleven 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical. More…

A musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right-hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, 'Hamilton' is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America’s fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we’ve become. Winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Confusing, Disappointing, Indulgent

See it if The hyper energy of "Hamilton" felt like a jack hammer outside my window in the middle of the night with no end in sight. A naked Emperor.

Don't see it if The set has been used several times before at New Jersery's Papermill Playhouse and how the show won best featured actor is still a mystery.

Clever, Great acting, Great staging, Overrated, Slow

See it if you love rap/In the Heights. I'm not a fan of rap & I'm glad I avoided the show as long as I did, since it's just not my thing.

Don't see it if like me, you weren't a fan of In the Heights and don't really like rap/hip-hop. There's more rap in this one than his first.

Overrated, Slow, Excruciating, Disappointing, Banal

See it if You are a millennial and haven't seen the "Lazy Sunday" Lonely Island digital short, which raps about Hamilton and the duel with Aaron Burr.

Don't see it if You grew up in the 80s with your teachers trying to be cool by incorporating rap into learning. This is the same class, three hours long.

"Yes, it really is that good...I am loath to tell people to mortgage their houses and lease their children to acquire tickets to a hit Broadway show. But 'Hamilton,' directed by Thomas Kail and starring Mr. Miranda, might just about be worth it — at least to anyone who wants proof that the Americ...

"What is left to say? After every critic in town (including me) praised the Public Theater world premiere to high heaven; and after seeing this language-drunk, rhyme-crazy dynamo a second time, I can only marvel: They used up all the damn words. Wait, here are three stragglers, straight from the ...

But 'Hamilton' not only incorporates new...
