About the show

Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip-hop infused tuner about Alexander Hamilton began at The Public Theater to rave reviews, then transferred to Broadway where it won eleven 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical. More…

A musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right-hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, 'Hamilton' is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America’s fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we’ve become. Winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

See it if you want the best history lesson you will ever witness. Best cast recording for a show. Non stop rap lyrics keep you awake. Great Writing.

See it if you possibly can! Definitely one of my favorite shows in almost 40 years of theatergoing.

Don't see it if you don't have a good command of English--it is very dense and might be hard to follow.

See it if Nobody or Nation is perfect, but it's what makes them great. A masterpiece of music & lyrics, character development, and production!

Don't see it if Don't like rap. Discomfort seeing people of color cast. Toxic masculinity leading to their premaure deaths but women get the job done!

Also Ticket from online lottery after 2.25 years of trying for $10.

Absolute must-see. brilliant story-telling, music, acting, choreography, and direction

See it if Everything great you've heard is true. Plus, it can make anyone love learning about history, and for that, you can't praise it enough.

Don't see it if No show can possibly live up to this amount of hype. Try to keep expectations in check. It really is that good - but it's still just a show.

See it if The only reason I'm not giving this 100, is because of audible issues in Act 1. This show rocked. Worth my 11-month wait and $210 ticket!

Don't see it if See it! The nearly 3-hours goes by. More rapping/singing than dialogue & we know the ending, but, so worth it. I had to console a girl next

Also To me, she was crying so much. Heck, I almost did, too! I loved Lin-Ma... Read more Read less

See it if You want to see the musical evolve for the next generation. This isn’t your parent’s musical, nor should it be. This reinvents what you know

Don't see it if You’re looking for Carousel or Oklahoma. Those are masterful, but this brings us into current times in a relevant way, while paying tribute.

"Yes, it really is that good...I am loath to tell people to mortgage their houses and lease their children to acquire tickets to a hit Broadway show. But 'Hamilton,' directed by Thomas Kail and starring Mr. Miranda, might just about be worth it — at least to anyone who wants proof that the Americ...

"What is left to say? After every critic in town (including me) praised the Public Theater world premiere to high heaven; and after seeing this language-drunk, rhyme-crazy dynamo a second time, I can only marvel: They used up all the damn words. Wait, here are three stragglers, straight from the ...

"A second look suggests that something even more significant is going on. The breakthrough isn’t so much the incorporation of those contemporary genres; after all, Miranda already did that, throwing in Latin music to boot, in the charming 'In the Heights.' But 'Hamilton' not only incorporates new...
