About the show

Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip-hop infused tuner about Alexander Hamilton began at The Public Theater to rave reviews, then transferred to Broadway where it won eleven 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical. More…

A musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right-hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, 'Hamilton' is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America’s fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we’ve become. Winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

See it if You want to finally feel like a broadway ticket was worth the price but wait if you can until it opens sales again as resale prices r crazy

Don't see it if the price is a hardship - if that is the case go see one of the myriad of other great shows off Bway

Also The show really does live up to the hype - it is a great history lesso... Read more Read less

See it if you want to see what the hype is about. The staging is excellent, the women terrific, King George splendid. The men need work on elocution

Don't see it if you are upset by loud, somewhat bombarding music. or if you have no interest in new forms of entertainment

Great singing, Refreshing, Overrated, Intense, Ambitious

See it if You want to see a production impeccably staged. The choreography is stellar. Strong voices, standout performances from every cast member.

Don't see it if Not a fan of an extensive history lesson. Score will either win you over or turn you off. Was turned off by disrespectful audience members.

See it if It's the rare show that lives up to the hype, especially when it's as deafening as the hype around Hamilton. But it truly is extraordinary.

Don't see it if If you really, really hate hip hop. Otherwise? Go.

See it if you care about American theater. This is the real deal; worth the hype & totally transcendent. You'll look at history in a whole new light.

Don't see it if you're old-fashioned, out of touch or a contrarian...or if you're a passive theatergoer. This show is totally engaging but requires focus.

See it if you are in search of a seemingly conventional musical with unconventional story telling methods that will reshape the American musical.

Don't see it if you absolutely hate history, music inspired by today's voices, or new work.

Confusing, Disappointing, Indulgent

See it if The hyper energy of "Hamilton" felt like a jack hammer outside my window in the middle of the night with no end in sight. A naked Emperor.

Don't see it if The set has been used several times before at New Jersery's Papermill Playhouse and how the show won best featured actor is still a mystery.

"Yes, it really is that good...I am loath to tell people to mortgage their houses and lease their children to acquire tickets to a hit Broadway show. But 'Hamilton,' directed by Thomas Kail and starring Mr. Miranda, might just about be worth it — at least to anyone who wants proof that the Americ...

"What is left to say? After every critic in town (including me) praised the Public Theater world premiere to high heaven; and after seeing this language-drunk, rhyme-crazy dynamo a second time, I can only marvel: They used up all the damn words. Wait, here are three stragglers, straight from the ...

The breakthrough isn’t so much the incorporation of those contemporary genres; after all, Miranda already did that, throwing in Latin music to boot, in the charming 'In the Heights.' But 'Hamilton' not only incorporates new...
