Intelligent, Thought-provoking, Profound, Great singing, Great acting

See it if The story is modern and incredibly timely. The arrangement is perfection. The cast is TALENT! you do NOT have to be a fan of alanis to LOVE

Don't see it if you are averse to heavier storylines. It's a very powerful story that confronts rape culture, drug addition, sexuality, and more.

Entertaining, Edgy, Riveting, Refreshing, Great singing

See it if You are a child of the 90s and a big Alanis fan. They did a great job not making this into a cheesy jukebox musical

Don't see it if You are looking for original music. It’s all just Alanis morissette songs which to me is amazing but some might not like

Must see, Intense, Thought-provoking, Great singing, Great acting

See it if you want a message delivered by a brilliant cast and great music. A great book and Alanis' intense songs fit like hand in glove. Go!!!!

Don't see it if you only want silly & cutesy; you want to hum happy songs as you leave; you don't think musicals should be relevant, serious, controversial Read more

Great singing, Intense, Relevant

See it if you want to see two rock star performances by Heidi & Lauren, plus a show about current topics presented in a non-jukebox musical fashion

Don't see it if you don't like Alanis M's music, or are easily triggered by sensitive topics

Relevant, Great staging, Great singing, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you like Alanis Morissette's music, enjoy high-tech sets and artsy choreography, or are looking for a show with (many) moving messages.

Don't see it if you don't like shows with political messaging or want a perfect ending. TW: flashing lights, unaccepting LGBT+ parents, addiction, and rape.

"The overly issue-ladened musical strives to encompass so much, telling so many tales of importance, and somehow pulls them all off in a way that just about works."

"As heartfelt a musical about a troubled family as 'Next To Normal,' as full of jaunty and jumpy rock rebellion as 'Rent,' it's hard to dismiss as just another jukebox musical…But even the most exhilarating number illustrates the inherent problems in fitting a new story around old hits."

"Elizabeth Stanley, in the performance of her career, is positively shattering as matriarch Mary Jane, who bravely (if foolishly) attempts to maintain her air of perfection and poise while her world crumbles and almost destroys herself completely in the process."

Theatre's Leiter Side

"'Jagged Little Pill,’ well-performed and slickly produced, never convinced me of its necessity…Its incorporation of Alanis Morissette’s music, written from other motives, in a story of family dysfunction and social unease, seems more a wishful concept than a work of organic integrity."
