Set in the Montmartre Quarter of Paris at the turn of the century, a world of indulgent beauty and unparalleled extravagance, of bohemians and aristocrats, of boulevardiers and mademoiselles, "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" tells the fictional story of an ambitious, lovesick writer, Christian, and a dazzling, entrancing chanteuse, Satine. Their lives collide at the Moulin Rouge with its many characters including the host, Harold Zidler, the brilliant and starving artist Toulouse-Lautrec, the greatest tango dancer - and gigolo - in all of Paris, Santiago, the tempting Nini, and The Duke of Monroth, the wealthy and entitled patron of the club who thinks he can buy anything he wants, including love. Directed by Tony nominee Alex Timbers, with a book by Tony winner John Logan.

See it if Back stage love story between cast of burlesque venue in 1890 Paris with steaming hot choreography. An audience pleaser.

Great staging, Great singing, Entertaining, Ambitious

See it if You like eye popping scenery, flashy costumes, large scale production numbers, and a mash-up of many hit songs too numerous to mention.

Don't see it if You prefer musicals with original songs written specifically for the score. Also, it appeared that some scenes. had little purpose other

See it if You want a huge spectacle! This show grabs you the moment you walk in the theater with a gorgeous set. This is the mother of jukebox shows!

Don't see it if You want to feel had. Beyond the set this musical is very dull. Pop song after pop song gets boring. The cast is superb but the rest a flop.

Great staging, Unfaithful, Overly upbeat, Dizzying, Disappointing

See it if you don't have a smidge of loyalty to the movie, you just want Vegas bachelorette-style spectacle.

Don't see it if you expect to see the scenes / hear the songs / feel the feels from the movie. It's nothing like that. And it's too afraid of melancholy.

During previews
Great choreography, Great staging, Great singing, Enchanting, Ambitious

See it if You want to see a "wow" Broadway extravaganza. The singing and dancing are top notch. Aaron Tveit will be a Tony contender.
