Inspired by a 70-page slice of Tolstoy’s 'War and Peace,' this immersive, Off-Broadway hit transfers to the Main Stem.

Natasha is young, Anatole is hot, and Andrey isn't here. But what about Pierre? Natasha is a beautiful ingenue visiting Moscow while she waits for her fiancée Andrey to return from the war. In a moment of indiscretion, she is seduced by the dashing (but already married) Anatole and her life is ruined. Her only hope lies with Pierre, the lonely outsider whose love and compassion for Natasha may be the key to her redemption. Featuring a score that mixes rock, pop, soul, folk and electronic dance music with classic Broadway, 'The Great Comet' arrives on Broadway after its critically acclaimed 2013 Off-Broadway premiere. Its creative team has re-imagined the Imperial Theatre as an opulent Russian salon, where every seat provides a unique perspective.

See it if you want an extreme spectacle show with very original music! It is a wild, immersive theatre show.

Don't see it if You are easily dizzied by extreme strobe lighting effects, loud music, or don't like audience interaction.

Confusing, Disappointing, Hard to separate russian characters

See it if you must see Josh Groban-though he sings little. Feels like you are in a cruise ship theater.

Don't see it if you don't care for mediocre musicals with confusing plot twists and character genealogy.

Don't see it if you want something high-energy all the way through. The opening number is exquisite and interactive, but it drags toward the middle.

Don't see it if You have anything less than good seats, because you are immersed in the action, and it doesn't extend to the rear of the theatre.

Great staging, Ambitious, If act i were as good as act ii, this unususal musical would be satisfying. some terrific performances and energized cast, but no musical moments to cherish.

See it if You want to see an innovative approach to a new musical.
