About the show

Roundabout presents this farcical play-within-a-play, complete with plates of sardines, semi-dressed ingenues, and slamming doors aplenty. More…

'Noises Off' is a first-rate comedy about a second-rate theatre company staging a third-rate play. The opening night performance of the farce 'Nothing On' is just hours away, and as the cast stumbles through their final dress rehearsal, things couldn't be going any worse. With lines being forgotten, love triangles unraveling and sardines flying everywhere, it’s complete pandemonium before they reach intermission. Can the cast pull their act together on the stage even if they can't behind the scenes?

Funny, Entertaining, Hilarious, Clever, Great acting

Clever, Entertaining, Cheesy, Overrated, Lame

See it if If you're a fan of the play or love to see fantastic actors truly give it their all;

Don't see it if If you don't like too much slapstick humor or lame jokes; If you want to sympathize with real characters;

Dated, Banal, Quirky

See it if You like a good historical farce, like hearing the word "sardines" repeated for laughs 20x

Don't see it if You're looking for an original, modern show

Dizzying, Overrated, Annoying, Disappointing, Not my style

See it if You like slap-stick humor and take aspirin first.

Don't see it if You don't like the slap-stick humor with doors slamming constantly. I didn't think it was funny at all.

Cliched, Dated, Disappointing, Banal

See it if You don't mind getting thugged around by rude, obnoxious, puerile and ignorant Roundabout staff.

Don't see it if You want to promote the show after it is over and they act like ISIS has arrived if you take out your phone to Tweet a selfie

Disappointing, Fluffy, Overrated

See it if you love lowbrow humor. This backstage farce about a sex comedy gone wrong has many admirers. But slapstick & raunch are an acquired taste.

Don't see it if farce leaves you cold. Worst part is you see the same scene performed 3 times from 3 different vantage points. That's 3 times too many.

Fluffy, Overrated, Dated, Disappointing

See it if you've never seen it before.

Don't see it if you have.

Confusing, Disappointing, Excruciating, Messy, Overwhelming

See it if You like slapstick/physical comedy

Don't see it if You don't like British comedy

See it if Thought it didn't hold up over time

Don't see it if If you not a fan of farces you'll really not like this

"The heady, headlong and altogether hilarious farce providing generous doses of heat-generating laughter as the winter chill finally sets in…Once it hits its lively stride, Mr. Herrin’s production rollicks along with machine-tooled precision, churning out belly laughs as if from an assembly line…...

"'Noises Off' is a precision-timed laugh machine, and director Jeremy Herrin’s ensemble is peppered with some of New York’s finest comic actors. So why did I chuckle so little? Various excuses could be made. There’s the culture gap: Good as our American troupers are, they don’t quite get the jaun...

"This cast is so well-matched that they really do seem to have been working together for months….Indeed, the astonishing thing about the contrivances is that, in a well-judged production like this one, they eventually break into yet another sphere…How something can be both nonsense and (in the co...

"The performances haven't yet clicked into the tight lockstep required to make Frayn's intricate comedy run at full tilt…While there are some brilliant set-pieces and terrific physical comedy, the repetition built into the material grows tiring...Despite its wit, structural inventiveness and repu...
