Over 75 years after Rodgers & Hammerstein reinvented the American musical, this is "Oklahoma!" as you’ve never seen it before – reimagined for the 21st century. Winner of the 2019 Tony for Best Musical Revival. More…
Stripped down to reveal the darker psychological truths at its core, Daniel Fish’s production tells a story of a community circling its wagons against an outsider, and the violence of the frontier that shaped America. Upending the sunny romance of a farmer and a cowpoke, this "Oklahoma!" allows the classic musical – and our country – to be seen in a whole new light.
See it if you hate musicals, especially Rodgers and Hammerstein, and want to see a travesty of the original .
Don't see it if you love the original "Oklahoma!" and don't want to see an agenda-driven version, changing the ending significantly while pretending not to.
See it if You want to see every production of Oklahoma on the planet, and don’t care if this is arbitrarily updated to no purpose.
Don't see it if You expect actors to connect, dislike screeching through songs, want to see dance by dancers, want to enjoy yourself.
See it if you love the original & want to hear those classic songs sung beautifully. Otherwise it's an awful production. Atrocious direction!!!
Don't see it if DON'T SEE IT! One of the worst things I've ever witnessed on Broadway. Performances are great, but it's horribly directed & Self-indulgent!
See it if If you love being beaten over the head with a concept until you pass out, you’ll love this mess of an ego-piece.
Don't see it if Ok so life in pre-state Oklahoma was rough. But there was no contrast in this production to bring it out.
See it if You would enjoy a bad Tim Burton wanna be production or love Mary Testa - the best thing in it
Don't see it if You don't want to see the life blood sucked out of it.
See it if you like non traditional theatre. 40 percent is great.
Don't see it if For me is misses the mark about 60 percent of the show. The dream ballet is atrocious
See it if you don't love the original show/movie and you want free cornbread and veggie chili
Don't see it if you don't mind sitting thru almost 3 hours of so-so singing and out there interpretation of a classic
See it if You're interested in seeing some incredible performances from Damon Daunno, Mary Testa & Ali Stroker, and hearing gorgeous re-orchestrations
Don't see it if You don't want to see a big directorial misfire trying to shove a square peg of a show into a round hole of a concept.
See it if you want chili and corn bread (free) at intermission; see it if you would like to see and hear a really good orchestra playing the music.
Don't see it if you have ever seen Oklahoma and loved it; don't go if you want to hold on to your happy memories.
See it if If you want to see a total destruction of a classic. The best part was the cornbread during intermission.
Don't see it if You don't want to see a completely bizarre show.
See it if You need to see every new version of Rogers & Hammerstein
Don't see it if You think Rogers & Hammerstein's music produced at Jimi Hendrix decibel levels is a horrid idea. I ran out 10 minutes into the second act.
See it if You want a deconstructed play, minimal scenery, good singing, chili and cornbread served by cast. I left at intermission. Ali Stoker was out
Don't see it if You like elaborate sets, traditional musicals.
See it if If you're looking for a completely different Oklahoma.
Don't see it if You loved the original Oklahoma - this almost bears no resemblance to it.
