From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, SIX the wives of Henry VIII take the mic to reclaim their identities out of the shadow of their infamous spouse—remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an exuberant celebration of 21st century girl power. The female cast is backed by an all-female band, the “Ladies in Waiting.” Songs from the studio album are streamed on average 300,000 per day making it the second highest streaming cast recording in the world.
See it if you want to see a live music video. The cast were all excellent singers. They were better than the material.
Don't see it if you want a plot and characters you care about. This was a cartoon. An extremely loud show with songs that all basically sound the same.
See it if You prefer a concert arena performance over a structured show with harmonious lyrics and like Xtra loud music
Don't see it if You prefer less shouted music and an audience that doesn't act as if they are at a rock concert
See it if If you Don’t mind listening to six singers waste their talent on sub par material that demanded screeching every lyric
Don't see it if You want a good script, good staging or good music
See it if you want to see what will prove to be one of the biggest hits of the season and a show that is attempting to do something outside the box.
Don't see it if you want to see a traditional musical or prefer a plot, which is non existent here. The same jokes get beaten over and over again.
See it if You miss high school pep rallies or have never been to one - this is something like a second chance.
Don't see it if You are averse to noise and not much else. There is serious talent on stage, but it doesn't add to anything.
See it if you want to see a Las Vegas show a la Spice Girls. For very young adults and children. An attempt at girl empowerment.
Don't see it if you actually want a Broadway musical with a book and a story. All posing, no theatre.
See it if For some reason the millenials in the audience raved over it. Not sure what appealed to them so much.
Don't see it if All lyrics,sometimes hard to understand.
See it if You like a Spice Girls concert with high-octane singing and fan screaming from the audience. Or want to see what all the screaming's about.
Don't see it if You like a Broadway musical to deliver a plot and interesting characters.
See it if You like excellent singing and a high energy cast with fun music.
Don't see it if You want more than a production which seemed like a high end finale of a voice talent competition
See it if You like contemporary pop music and American Idol-type reality shows.
Don't see it if You prefer dramas or more sophisticated musicals with original scores (eg Hamilton, Hadestown).
