The start of the concert is a high-energy spectacle, loud, busy and electrifying. And “Six” remains high-energy and loud for most of its 80 minutes, with a six-member cast, backed by an all-female band, that’s charismatic and indefatigable. But the electricity winds up feeling static.

Six is more a flashy concert than a conventional stage musical. You might say it’s a variation of the jukebox formula, tied together by a slender theme instead of familiar songs. Rodgers and Hammerstein it’s not…The best way to enjoy Six is to ignore the feminist politics and accept it as a theatrically diverting dive into divadom.

The show is high energy, full of feminism, and infused with incredible songs that are very relevant to the different ways that women suffer today. But it doesn’t really feel like theatre. There’s no staging, minimal choreography, no real character development, and very superficial interaction between the characters. Six: The Musical is a fun concept and a fun experience. The vocal performances are moving, but there’s not really any acting or dramatic structure. It's more concert than a musical.
