Banal, Confusing, Disappointing, Slow, Disjointed

See it if You are curious or are a fan of any of the cast members

Don't see it if you are not familiar with the story and don't want to get confused/bored. you are familiar with the story and don't want to be disappointed

Confusing, Disappointing, Ambitious

See it if You love Diane Lane. This revival is too slow to keep you involved & too fast to keep track of who's who. I had to review the play at home.

Don't see it if You don't like Checkov. Hankering for some Russian lit? Head to the fun Great Comet. It brings you into the story to know the characters.

Disappointing, Confusing, Ambitious, Indulgent, Slow

See it if you are a serious student of Chekov or simply want the experience of seeing a classic play on Broadway with interesting actors.

Don't see it if you don't already know the play. This is an example of unnecessary, pretentious directorial "concept" tragically getting in the way.

Confusing, Muddled

See it if you're desperate to see Diane Lane on stage.

Don't see it if you're looking for a refreshing staging of a Chekhov play. There are ideas here, but none of them are coherent or cohesive.

Disappointing, Banal, Excruciating, Confusing, Insipid

See it if Can't think of any reason to see it. It was pretty bad.

Don't see it if Have seen better productions of The Cherry Orchard. This translation was awful, confusing, and trite. The play did not cultivate any pathos.

Banal, Disappointing, Indulgent, Slow

See it if you want to see a number of famous actors on stage. Or if you don't care how misguided a translation is.

Don't see it if care about Chekhov, want to see a production with a point of view or consistent acting..
