The award-winning stage adaptation of the 1994 Disney film, 'The Lion King' tells the story of a young lion prince, Simba. He idolizes his father, the king Mufasa, while at the same time youthfully shirks the responsibility his position in life requires. Entertaining, Enchanting, Great staging, Delightful, Must see

Disappointing, Overrated, Ruins the movie, Awful staging

See it if You want to shell out obscene amounts of money just to hear the songs from the movie.

Don't see it if You want a decently-staged version of the Lion King.

Slow, Overrated, Disappointing, Dated

See it if You have kids that you cannot find anything else to entertain them with. Also, if you feel like wasting a bunch of money.

Don't see it if you want to actually understand what any of the cast is saying. I couldn't understand a word of the show. Also, everyone is tired and bored.

Banal, Disappointing, The puppets are good but the book is severely lacking

See it if a tired show that's been running a long time with a trite story. Or if seeing puppets for a few minutes is enough to justify ticket price

Don't see it if You want to see a show with an absorbing book; ; you don't like African music

Enchanting, Great staging, Excruciating, Boring, Overrated

See it if you love original visuals.

Don't see it if you didn't like the movie.

Cliched, Disappointing, Great staging, Overrated

See it if You need a starter show, you're bringing children

Don't see it if You prefer a music heavy show or you appreciate originality

Delightful, Great staging, Insipid, Disappointing, Overrated

See it if you like the film and value visual effects over the story, score, or consistency. Honestly, I was fighting to stay awake...and I failed.

Don't see it if you want something "smart," or intellectually or emotionally challenging. Also, you don't want to ruin your date with this snoozefest.

Banal, Disappointing, Excruciating, Overrated, Slow

See it if you like family friendly, Disney-type shows, tend to follow hype and don't go to a lot of theater in general

Don't see it if you want to preserve your positive childhood memories of Lion King and the greatness of the original motion picture, or if you hate fluff

Banal, Disappointing, Great staging, Overrated, Slow

See it if you love dolls and puppets.

Don't see it if the songs from the movie annoy you already. I was just bored. The whole puppet thing was not mine.

Dated, Fluffy, Overrated

See it if Do not see it.

Don't see it if you want to see actors acting instead of being slaves to abusive costumes.

Overrated, Disappointing

See it if you get free tickets if one of your out of town friends gets it for you as a can at least say "you've seen it".

Don't see it if you expect the show to be anything like the opening scene, which has been on tv forever. The show is stale, poorly performed, for kids.

Disappointing, Overrated

See it if It is the only show available.

Don't see it if You enjoyed the movie, enjoy original theater, or just want to have a great time.

See it if You enjoy Disney films or Elton John music, also if you like things that everyone else is obsessed with.

Don't see it if You're not a fan of the original film or if you prefer more original pieces.

Slow, Overrated, Boring, Insipid, Arrogant

See it if You are a Disney addict and can't help yourself.

Don't see it if You are expecting an enchanting, beautiful show. It is slow and boring. Only the first scene and song are worth watching. Staging overrated.

Disappointing, Overrated, Insipid

See it if you like mindless entertainment

Don't see it if you want edgy theater.

Don't see it if You want a well told story or good acting

These are creatures of air and light and even a touch of divinity. Where are you, really, anyway? Somehow you have fallen into what ap...

"'The Lion King' was astonishing, in the jaw-dropping manner of speaking. And today, 21 years later, it still is...Taymor, the avant-garde director to whom Disney entrusted the piece, outdid herself...Everything still looks wonderful, and looks practically brand new, too. One of the stunning elem...
