Excruciating, Indulgent, Insipid, Overrated, Over produced

See it if You enjoy being blasted out of your seat by amped music so loud your ears are assaulted !

Don't see it if You don’t enjoy musicals in which the set and costumes and special effects are more entertaining than the actors !

Excruciating, Vacuous, Dumb, For kids only, Amusement park quality

See it if You have TV addicted little kids to entertain while you nap.

Don't see it if You have expectations for even moderate quality music, dialogue, or performances.

See it if your weed dealer hooked you up with particularly strong stuff recently b/c you'll probably need to be high to enjoy this show.

Don't see it if you're sober and/or don't have young children in tow. I found this to be silly, somewhat grating & highly overrated.

Also I had no idea what was happening on stage. Granted, I never saw an epi... Read more Read less

See it if you have no interest in good theater. This is the epitome of what is wrong with modern broadway. Caters to the lowest common denominator.

Don't see it if you like good theater, good music, or want anything but a Times Square "Broadway" show. I hated it so much I left at intermission.

Banal, Disappointing

See it if you really like spongebob and you really don't care about the structure of a musical or for the show to feel cohesive

Don't see it if you can't stand theatre for young audiences. This fully feels like they're framing every joke for 8 year olds

See it if you are just looking for a way to entertain your young kids on your vacation.

Don't see it if You loved the original spongebob. They tried to force a plot the whole second act. Everyone who knows SBSP knows the plots are meaningless

"Tina Landau’s exhaustingly imaginative production...You will probably adore this musical if: a) 'SpongeBob' was a formative influence of your childhood, b) you are a stoner who tokes up to watch reruns of the show on YouTube; or c) if you are (like my date for this show) a parent of 'SpongeBob'-...

"In heavy times, we can all use a little nonsense. (The good kind)...Here’s where the real twist comes: the show is very good.
