See it if you like Gothic tragedy. That's really all this is. Also, if you want to see really original set design. That's the best part.
Don't see it if you don't like ghost stories, you aren't into melodrama.
See it if You love Judith Light - she was drop-dead phenomenal in act 2. Fantastic set design. But Keira was a huge disappointment.
Don't see it if You have little patience for one-note performances.
See it if You enjoy seeing a show staged well with beautiful sets and lighting. The book is not interesting enough to sustain a 2 1/2 hour long play.
Don't see it if You are looking to see a meaty story with great acting. It is all quite ordinary.
See it if you're into pompous, highbrow shows. This is such a disappointment. The only cast member who creates a "true" character is G. Ebert.
Don't see it if let's say that again: "Don't see it." KK glowers and sulks the whole evening, Judith Light is borderline camp. Production a travesty of Zola
See it if You're a die hard Keira Knightley fan, or can afford to sit close enough to see her eyes since she barely speaks.
Don't see it if You aren't into period pieces or you don't enjoy the same dialogue being repeated for 40 minutes straight in a second act
See it if Turgid dialogue and deadly dull staging. Knightly cast against type as a dour non-smiling adultress.
Don't see it if You are a Keira Knightly fan expecting her to play to her strengths. That you are interested in fresh and vibrant storytelling.
See it if You love intelligent and misterious plays.
Don't see it if Absolutely no reason for you not to go see it. Just so good.
See it if You love Keira Knightly, a great plot and Studio 54 as a venue
Don't see it if You are not fond of French lit or expect glitzy sets
