Disappointing, Fluffy, Slow, Hilarious, Great writing

See it if You liked the movie and go in with lower expectations. Want to laugh at some pretty funny characters! Drew Gehling is amazing.

Don't see it if You hated the movie or expect to be wowed by Betsy Wolfe. Don't like pop filled musicals. Read more

See it if You want to hear a unique score.

Don't see it if You want characters that are more than two dimensional. Even domestic violence feels fluffy.

Disappointing, Entertaining, Funny, Original, Great singing

See it if You loved the movie. Also, it has three great female leads. The score is entertaining and well sung, especially Jesse M's big number.

Don't see it if You don't like gimmicky directing and are looking for intelligent humor. It could have been better.

Entertaining, Great music, Fluffy, Quirky

See it if You like cute entertaining musicals with great music but doesn't necessarily push the envelope. It's enjoyable fun.

Don't see it if You prefer harder hitting, darker, or more thought provoking theater. The show is nothing special and the book could use some work.

Banal, Disappointing, Great singing

See it if you think this a going to be some great show, and you liked the film.

Don't see it if you expect a mature, sensitive translation of the touching film to the stage. This is a heavy handed, often silly, production.

Banal, Shallow characterization, Unmemorable songs, Predictable ending

See it if Your friends and family from out-of-town are coming. Better - rent them the movie. It, at least, is charming.

Don't see it if You like musical theater with a)dancing & b)interesting characters, not a pastiche of bad guys, not-as-bad guys, & women with hearts of gold
