About the show

Celebrate late choreographer Jerome Robbins’ 100th birthday with a performance and fascinating Salon about his life! More…

Join fellow Show-Score members and Jerome Robbins-enthusiasts aboard the historic aircraft carrier “Intrepid” for a very special event celebrating the life of the landmark choreographer on his 100th birthday.

The event, as part of the Intrepid’s season of programming, will begin on the flight deck with a live performance from “On the Town,” staged for this special setting by Joshua Bergasse, the Tony Award–winning choreographer of the 2014 Broadway revival. The performance is followed by a panel chock-full of experts, including the daughter of renowned lyricist Adolph Green and a member of the original cast of “West Side Story”!

The event will explore Robbins’s enduring legacy through anecdotal stories, archival film footage, and live dance, and will highlight how his choreography brought the sensibility of the streets alive on the stage.
