See it if You want a heartwarming fun uplifting show in these times of insanity. Rob is at his peak. It’s the Hairspray of this time in history.
Don't see it if cliched stereotypes of secondary characters are things you can’t overlook (the campy gay couple, etc). The ‘updating’ falls flat in that area
See it if You like Tracy Letts plays in general. one of those pieces that isn’t necessarily enjoyable but it completely necessary. Especially now.
Don't see it if You don’t like to work watching a show.
See it if Most people know if they want to see this or not, I thought I wouldn’t. So here is what I would tell me ‘see it if you loved Altar Boyz’
Don't see it if There’s no place in this theater for a conservative audience (and in my opinion there isn’t any place in theater period for them anymore)
See it if You like that music. They sound great. But. Not for me. At all.
Don't see it if I mean. I don’t know why people like it. I actually dozed off and the only thing i remember is a line ‘why are you wasting your time here’
See it if the actors are all great. Alexander is a national treasure. Deals with relationship issues without taking itself ‘too’ seriously.
Don't see it if You only see a few things each season. There’s better out there and it was great, but not ‘memorable’ per se.
See it if It’s just damn good theater. One of those things that reminds me why live theater will never die.
Don't see it if You can’t deal with nudity and explicit sexual content. Anything else that you don’t like means it’s doing it’s job.
Also It wasn’t nearly as jarring or controversial as hype made me believe. ... Read more Read less
See it if You MUST see this interpretation of Gee Officer Krupke even if you hate everything else. You think revivals should strive to reinterpret.
Don't see it if You ONLY want to see exactly what you know - just rent the movie. But also to reiterate - you MUST see this version of krupke.
Also The rumors they are rolling back the new choreo are upsetting - it was... Read more Read less
See it if You are already a fan of the show, or of Christine Sanjous - she was stellar. It’s always good to hear the songs from this underrated show
Don't see it if hard to follow if you don’t know the material - updates to modernize it and make Nick a woman were ambitious and needed but incomplete.
See it if You have a heart. This even turned my inner Scrooge into a happy dude after a rough pre show evening. Surprising and a different version.
Don't see it if You are there only for the ghosts. This version is much more about Scrooge’s journey than most. It took a second to get past that for me.
See it if You enjoy seeing theater that tries to tell stories in different ways. This show was simultaneously completely relatable and foreign.
Don't see it if You don’t like to think at the theater. You like straightforward storytelling.
See it if you really like Dinklage or Jenner - they're both great. The director continues to have a great visual vocabulary.
Don't see it if You're hoping for anything new or relevant in Cyrano. The music doesn't add anything other than time.
See it if You like the movie or similar films (Blinded by Light, etc). I'd be surprised if this didn't win a ton of awards and get a broadway xfer
Don't see it if You don't like 80s themed music. You don't like british style theater/cinema. You like big production value and standard musical choreo.
See it if It was a cute night out. I remember very little of the film but still enjoyed it.
Don't see it if It definitely is a bit raunchy. So. If an abundance of low brow humor is a turn off it may not be for you.
See it if All three actors are quite good, and perhaps close up where you would really feel their performances the play would have more life.
Don't see it if You don't appreciate pregnant pauses. My feeling was that every time they wanted to communicate subtext, they were directed to be silent.
See it if You are able to tune out the audience around you or don’t care if you can’t hear dialogue. The sequences that soared really soared.
Don't see it if You are easily distracted and can’t afford to buy five rows for yourself. You want to see a concert (don’t ruin it for the rest of us)
Also I have no idea how to score this show. It was like I bought tickets to... Read more Read less
See it if You want a thought provoking if sometimes difficult to navigate evening. I’ll probably lose sleep over this one.
Don't see it if You want flawless theater. The charm of this is the flaws and how live theater can always change.
See it if You like the franchise in general. Aline Mayagoitia was a special standout. You’ve seen all the shows currently running.
Don't see it if You prefer the nastier predecessors - this outing was a bit tame. You’re not up to date on broadway- the funniest bits really need reference
See it if You like the rest of Tracy Letts’s cannon. This is tamer than his other material but just as solid.
Don't see it if Onstage sex is a trigger (it’s masterfully done). It didn’t have quite a strong catharsis as compared to his other plays.
See it if You’re a fan of Adam Rapp and/or Mary Louise Parker. You like plays that leave you thinking and wondering after. You appreciate theatercraft
Don't see it if You want something upbeat and fun. If you’re into ‘ah-ha moments as this leaves the audience with more questions than answers.

See it if It’s 100% the best overall production of Little Shop I’ve seen and I’ve seen MANY. The Urchins are incredible. Borle predictably steals it
Don't see it if I mean if you already decided you hate it because you’d rather go to Pasadena, go 🤷🏻♂️ (Nothing against Pasadena)
Also I gave it a 95 cuz I’d have liked a little more from the finale. ... Read more Read less
See it if You enjoy shows in the vein of little shop, toxic avenger, etc. it’s paving it’s way to a well deserved spot in that lineup.
Don't see it if You don’t enjoy dark comedy. Most of the biggest laughs are a bit guilty. It’s also clear the material still needs some work.
Also I can’t wait to see what this can evolve to in future incarnations. ... Read more Read less
See it if You like gay plays and aids plays and plays where privileged people complain about their lives. Or it’s a free ticket
Don't see it if You have had enough of gay plays about hiv. I don’t see what this had to offer that was new at all. I’d see part two if it was free.
See it if The singing is fantastic. The choreography is fantastic. Realizing he started this in 2005 is fantastic.
Don't see it if the material was dark and the attempt at hope in the darkness didn’t really land. Great theatricality but I’m not sure what I took away.
See it if You’d enjoy a modern mashup of Rocky Horror, Pippin, and god knows what. When it soars it truly soars
Don't see it if But just as much of it is incomprehensible (just like rocky horror so haha). It’s also loud. And sweaty. So choose your own adventure.
See it if You’re over fifty and white?
Don't see it if It just felt so caricatures and backpatting. Just not my thing.
See it if You want to see two actors working their craft with solid material. I don’t tend to like 1 person shows but still enjoyed this.
Don't see it if You only like fun theater. If certain topics trigger you, do your research before getting a ticket.
See it if you know and love all the music and wouldn't mind paying for a ticket just to hear things with your eyes closed
Don't see it if you care at all about plot or presentation. some of the worst choreography I've ever seen and nothing made sense.
Also I LOVE We Will Rock You, so this isn't just about me wanting 'good the... Read more Read less
See it if You like the movie. You don’t mind pure entertainment. You want to see the best act two opener in broadway history.
Don't see it if You don’t like the movie. You want a carbon copy of the movie. The entire rearmezz is essentially partial view - heads up!

See it if You want to see something that musically feels new and different with great talent. I didn’t like it but am glad I saw it.
Don't see it if You want to be entertained or see a traditional musical. at least it is different and not just pretending to be <cough hadestown cough>
See it if It was a fun direct approach to broaching topics of marginalization and the timelessness of it. If that’s your thing! Its worth a visit!
Don't see it if You don’t like to be confronted with racism / sexism / etc. while this great (and historical) - other theatrical pieces have done it better
See it if You love Cher. you want to see a really great tango number that she has nothing to do with. You want to see a drag show without drag queens
Don't see it if I don’t love Cher, and I liked her less leaving than I did going in. It all was very entitled and self indulgent. But good for its target.
See it if You know Chekhov very well and have enough of an appreciation for it but find it tiresome, this is a hilarious take - he’s probably like it
Don't see it if This is NOT for everyone - tons of people left, but if it is for you you will LIVE for it. I know I did.
See it if It does everything right Jersey Boys did wrong. I mean I even liked the use of the turntable. And I never like those.
Don't see it if You don’t like that style of music, but that should be obvious 🤷🏻♂️
See it if You already like the play - it’s a well done version of it. Brandon Uranowitz especially shines. Some great lighting design too.
Don't see it if It’s just not a play I like, I just never saw the point. Confused why Adam Driver does the ENTIRE thing facing upstage though.
See it if You want a nice light evening out. It was a hoot. Great date night or friends night.
Don't see it if You’ve never done online dating, you definitely need the frame of reference to truly enjoy it.
See it if It’s worth seeing just for Metcalf and Lithgow, and an underappreciated Orth. The script is solid and Hnath continues to be a great talent.
Don't see it if You always want your theater cathartic. The play just didn’t seem to have anything new/relevant to say. Maybe this just wasn’t ‘it’s time’
See it if This had all the elements of things I normal can’t stand, and it was perfect and everyone should go! Almost everyone.
Don't see it if I mean. There’s only a handful of people on this planet that shouldn’t and you can name them.
See it if You like Shakespeare. Ruth Wilson was great. And the signing was great. But not worth three and a half hours.
Don't see it if You don’t like Shakespeare. It didn’t have much to offer if you don’t. Also the Philip glass Music was distracting at best and excruciating
See it if You want to see some of the best of the best in musicals telling a lovely story. Has some chinks in act two, but I sense a transfer!

See it if I mean. Some of it was funny.
Don't see it if I mean. Most of it was just random.
See it if Three good dance numbers in a 2 1/2 show make it worth seeing. You think Kelli can do no wrong (sorry. She. Is. Not. Funny.)
Don't see it if You don’t think the highlight of act one should be Tom dick and Harry while the low point is I Hate Men. If you have anything else to see.
Also Surprisingly Corbin was amazing. I wish i could have seen the few good... Read more Read less
See it if You like deconstruction of Shakespeare OR if you’re a horror genre fan - so many clever homages throughout. Lady macBeth was STELLAR
Don't see it if If you just can’t abide Shakespeare at all. If you can’t abide anything being altered about Shakespeare
See it if This is the highest score I’ve given a musical with a terrible score, but the lyrics, script, acting, and staging make it really worthwhile
Don't see it if You can’t appreciate humor that is simultaneously on the nose and borderline offensive in the current climate
See it if You want to see A good play performed well (and I’m not usually a big fan of them).
Don't see it if You can’t relate to something written in another era. Many will call this ‘problematic’ when it wasn’t at the time.
See it if Dave Malloy has outdone himself with this piece. It’s so smart and challenging and powerful that it’s worth seeing even if you don’t like it
Don't see it if You get upset at having a mirror held up to yourself. If you don’t like his previous work (but you still should)
See it if REALLY solid production of the show with a few surprises and potentially the best hinckley/fromme pairing I’ve seen.
Don't see it if You don’t like the show.
See it if You enjoy British panto style humor. The actor/writers are both very good and deserve an audience that would enjoy this as much as i did.
