See it if you want a fun, cute night out to the theatre and want to see a cappella music incorporated into the musical theatre world.
Don't see it if you want to see an "artsy" piece or expect there to be a reason it is a cappella
See it if you want to see something so unique and different. The folk opera is an up and coming genre of the musical form and it is so refreshing.
Don't see it if you want a traditional musical theater show or if you strongly dislike folk music (I am ambivalent towards it and loved the music)
See it if you want a great gateway into broadway. Every theatregoer must see Les Mis at some point.
Don't see it if you've seen Les Mis before. I mean you can, its just not necessary and it's not as different as people say.
See it if you are bored with how dramas have been staged or in other words if you want to see how a drama should be staged in an exciting manner.
Don't see it if you are looking for a philosophical play. That's not a bad thing, this play is just more about the emotions. Doing so brilliantly.
See it if you want to see one of the most important avant garde companies (Complicité) perform a unique piece that would not normally be on broadway.
Don't see it if you want a normal night at the theatre or if you have issues hearing since you wear headphones the entire time.
See it if you havent. It is a right of passage to see in the theater.
Don't see it if you think it's been on broadway for so long so it must be THAT good. That's not the reason.
See it if you want to see a new work from one of the most important playwrights writing right now
Don't see it if you dont like shows where they talk to the audience, discuss race, or if you think it will be BJJ's best
See it if you have any interest or have any background in psychology and related fields. It is scientifically accurate.
Don't see it if you don't like broken up shows. (the show consists of scenes that keep coming in and out)
See it if You want a fun night out with an original score/concept.
Don't see it if this is your first broadway show you have ever seen or heard. There are a lot of references.
See it if you want a great gateway into musical theatre. Many people's (including my own) first love.
Don't see it if you want to spend a fortune on a ticket
See it if you want to see something new by an incredible contemporary writing team that has intense catharsis not often found in contemp. MT.
Don't see it if You expect a perfect show. There is much work needed, but the positives outweigh the negatives.
