See it if Sad, serious, heartbreaking, difficult theater, beautifully written, poetic and contrapuntal.Left me sad but conscious that life is precious

Don't see it if You want a happy carefree night at the theater. This is bloody, sad and inexplicable, but important and beautifully acted and staged.

See it if funny play about small town secrets + politics re native injustice. LOL lines and quirky characters. Turns sharply into horror flick end.

Don't see it if Not enough time to develop ideas he wants to convey. Feels superficial + the end cheap tricks. Letts’ worst play. Acting clunky. Trite lines

Great staging, Romantic, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You like a good old fashioned story, excellent music and singing-contemporary and historic plot that is emotionally rich and satisfying.

Don't see it if You don’t like short musicals or young actors or historic plots told in contemporary time with a romantic mystery at the core.

See it if You like family dramas w a political twist. It unveils the tribulations of a family whose mother has been deported. Well told and heartfelt

See it if The play is about forgiveness. It is searing, heartfelt, difficult +ultimately redemptive. Precise writing. Hard stuff Fine acting. Intimate

Don't see it if This is not a lighthearted play. It is serious, sad, upsetting and real. Takes the subject-school shootings-from a very personal perspective

Great acting, Slow, Overrated, Disappointing

See it if you follow Richard Nelson's work and want to smell a quiche baking while watching actors talk about insider NY events with little drama

Don't see it if You want actual drama when you go to theater. this is slice of life. Nelson's plays are hyped so much but have disappointed me universally

Dated, Relevant, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if Love a straight play with a good old fashioned plot and action. Well acted and staged. Some over acting and awkwardness but heartfelt work

Don't see it if You want razzle-dazzle. This is an old fashioned history play and brings the time to life. It is not as polished as a broadway production.

Intelligent, Disappointing, Relevant, Overrated

See it if you love the story and want to see it on stage. It takes on a relevant subject even if I have quibbles with the staging, direction & writing

Don't see it if You want to see the subject taken seriously and updated for the present. too much fooling around with the sets & heroic white people for me.

See it if Deirdre O’Connell masterfully embodies the playwright’s mother, who tells the story of being taken hostage for 5 months. Riveting and sad

Don't see it if This is not a lighthearted evening in the theater. It is serious, almost completely a monologue and very little staging or movement.
