Great writing, Clever, Funny, Entertaining, Absorbing

See it if you like a good script, direction and cast. The play shifts from unnerving, moving and hilarious fluidly, and the subject is well handled.

Don't see it if Violence or dolls scare you. In one part a violent act towards a child is described, which may be upsetting. Otherwise, go see it!

East Village
Indulgent, Slow, Excruciating, Cliched, Disappointing

See it if You like the actors, though the direction does them very little favors.

Don't see it if Prison cliches annoy you; Corrupt guards, prison jailbird who quotes the Bible every 5 minutes, somebody has to die at the end.

Dying City
Midtown W
Indulgent, Intelligent, Excruciating, Confusing, Disappointing

See it if You enjoy two-handers.

Don't see it if You’re spending a lot of money. It’s alright, but the writing isn’t very good. The direction is alright, and the acting is so-so.

Great acting, Funny, Enchanting, Ambitious, Clever

See it if You want to give old English plays a chance/want to see a solid outdoor production.

Don't see it if You don’t like sitting in the grass. There’s also movement between acts which may be a concern for people who can’t walk or move easily.

Great staging, Entertaining, Funny, Disappointing, Banal

See it if You appreciate crude humor and Nathan Lane.

Don't see it if If you’re expecting something profound at the end. The play is entertaining at parts but that’s about it.

Disappointing, Ambitious, Relevant, Intelligent, Great acting

See it if You enjoy historical, comedic plays with extravagant, gorgeous design.

Don't see it if Heavy-handed political commentary isn't your thing.

Absorbing, Ambitious, Entertaining, Great acting, Must see

See it if You're tired of seeing bad renditions of Chekhov. Or if you've never even seen Chekhov. It was extremely accessible and truly funny.

Don't see it if You hate theatre in the round; it doesn't add much to the play and occasionally the sight lines can get bad depending on your seating.

Banal, Dated, Great acting, Great singing, Slow

See it if You're a fan of men's choirs and anecdotes from World War I.

Don't see it if You prefer more story to your musicals or are offended by lackluster costume and design.

Midtown W
Enchanting, Great acting, Edgy, Confusing, Quirky

See it if You're into historical pieces with touches of absurdism.

Don't see it if Simulated nudity scares you. It could also be a bit triggering for those who are victims of sexual abuse.

The Antipodes
Midtown W

Don't see it if Obscene language offends you
