Thought-provoking, Ambitious, Confusing, Refreshing, Disappointing

See it if You enjoy ensemble based theatre that utilizes Multi-media, non traditional staging and unconventional storytelling.

Don't see it if You prefer more conventional theatre that doesn’t attempt to tackle grand issues/concepts. Or you don’t like having to move during the show.

See it if You enjoy conceptualized Shakespeare or are interested in seeing theatre with a multicultural cast/viewpoint.

Don't see it if You don't enjoy modern Shakespeare adaptations or are expecting this show to magically fix the weaknesses of As You Like It.

Confusing, Frustrating, Emotionless, Well executed design, Disappointing

See it if you enjoy interesting sound/lighting design or are a super-fan of Steve Earle/Richard Maxwell.

Don't see it if you need plays to have rich character development, strong and/or fast-moving plot, or any glimpse of real human emotion.

Absorbing, Entertaining, Edgy, Clever, Ambitious

See it if you enjoy immersive theater, dance theater, or just getting lost in an intricately constructed world of Hitchcock meets Macbeth.

Don't see it if you spook easily, dislike audience participation, hate dance theater, or have difficulty traveling by foot to different building floors.

Enchanting, Absorbing, Subtle, Surprising, Creative

See it if you like quiet, quirky theater that is subtle and beautifully staged with well-rounded performances and an unconventional script.

Don't see it if you find Washburn's work to be too weird/pretentious or have difficulty with slow-paced works with little plot.

Dated, Banal, Entertaining, Poorly written, Enjoyable music

See it if you like Andrew Lloyd Webber and/or musicals with spectacle and well-sung music.

Don't see it if you can't stand the idea of sitting through another dated production of a Webber musical with a poorly written book and bad pacing.

Ambitious, Engaging, Absorbing, Self-indulgent, Well crafted

See it if You enjoy the interplay of live performance with film/technology, unconventional storytelling, and performances that explore queer identity.

Don't see it if You prefer straight forward narratives or can’t abide the smell of fake cigarette smoke.

See it if you enjoy new works that bring together layered performances, beautiful design, and original stage direction.

Don't see it if you are looking for a traditional theatrical experience with traditional casting and little ambition or humor.

Ambitious, Absorbing, Clever, Dizzying, Creative

See it if you are interested in John Cage, the work of Bogart/SITI company, philosophical ruminations on art and life, whimsical work with no plot

Don't see it if you dislike quirky "pretentious" theater, plot-less scripts, intricate but strange sound/lighting design, the viewpoints method, Cage's work

Well-acted, Funny, Absorbing, Raw, Trite

See it if you like strong women characters or watching Marin Ireland deliver a knockout, 80 minute, non-stop, fully dimensional beautiful performance.

Don't see it if you dislike dark, gritty drama's that offer a pretty grim portrait of people's lives.

Absorbing, Ambitious, Edgy, Beautifully acted, Horrible theater

See it if enjoy well-staged, powerfully acted "classic" American theater done in a interesting and provocative manner.

Don't see it if you buy an obstructed view seat that limits the already obstructed seat even further due to rearrangement of the stage

Also I saw this at the Lyceum Theater where I experienced an incredibly pow... Read more Read less

Cliched, Some moving moments, Lacking subtlety, Interesting subject matter, Disappointing

See it if you like relevant (semi) well-written/ decently acted work that attempts to understand the struggles of middle-America/ the working class.

Don't see it if you dislike melodramatic, heavy-handed staging/writing/acting with characters that can come across like caricatures at times.
