See it if the actor/writer of this one man show was actually very good, and had a bit of star charisma -- and had great comic timing

Don't see it if well, the writing wasn't as good as the acting -- and I think kept the play from fully blooming.

Also There were many things to like about this one man show -- and it was a... Read more Read less

A near great play
July 9th, 2022

See it if This is a wonderful play — so thoughtful and intelligent — written by a man about a woman’s inner life and needs.

Don't see it if Well — one should see it — it’s such an intelligent play with a wonderful ending (it’s the ending the play deserved)

Also I didn’t see it when it was in NYC with Laurie Metcalf — and I’m sure ... Read more Read less

See it if Easy, breezy, lemon squeezy! A well done comedy — rather delightful!

Don't see it if Well - I think one should see it — it’s seems like a very British comedy — light and frothy.

Also Thoroughly enjoyable — a very well done production. Spoiler alert — I ... Read more Read less

Starts well, but the ending disappoints
July 6th, 2022

See it if The 3 main actors are all very good. The actor who plays Putin is wonderful. Tom Hollander is fine and clear.

Don't see it if It’s more of a history lesson than a dramatic play — as the tension between the characters really is not built up and the ending disappoints

Also The acting was strong, the direction was clever enough — and I wanted ... Read more Read less

Really, over ballons?
July 2nd, 2022

See it if This isn’t a terrible play — but it’s not a good one either. The plot is weak and there are a couple of gimmicky plot devices used.

Don't see it if The play is forgettable and there is nothing at stake dramatically - it’s a lot of drama over nothing — over ballons!

Also A rather forgettable play — though the acting was very good all around... Read more Read less

The acting was on another level
July 1st, 2022

See it if Honestly, it was one of those evenings when you see and feel an actor inhabit a role so fully - it so rarely happens — but it happened here

Don't see it if Well, people should see it. There are so many positives for this play and this theatre and how it gives voice to a community…

Also “Fellowship” is not a perfect play, it has minor flaws — but I was so ... Read more Read less

Not globe worthy
June 30th, 2022

See it if If you’re just in London visiting for a few days to see a play in the Globe.

Don't see it if I wouldn’t see this if this would be seeing your first Lear — as this is the apex of Shakespeare, or in other words, of Art itself.

See it if It’s smartly done — very good performances all around. These British actors all do a great job with their American 70’s Black vernacular.

Don't see it if It’s a bit plodding in both the writing and the plot — at over 2 and a half hours. And those wigs that the male actors wear - ugly as sin.

Also This play is a bit awkward — and I found the direction to be overly dr... Read more Read less

June 19th, 2022

See it if Everything was smartly done — set, wardrobe — and the acting was tip top — all 3 actors were excellent.

December 15th, 2019

See it if This is a thoughtful play — there is real intelligence behind how this play progresses — behind its absurdist structure (think “No Exit”).
