Glorietta

The Bronx | 65+ | Female
About:  Rabid attendee of all performance forms (except Opera). Four to five performances a week. My first show was at 16, "Camelot," with Julie Andrews, Richard Burton, Robert Goulet and Roddy McDowell. It was like crack cocaine. Followed by "Night of the Iguana". Who could ask for me!

Relevant, Intelligent, Great writing, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you like excellent drama about important issues -- and this show is as relevant today as when the book was writte.

Don't see it if No reason n ot to see it but I didn't like the casting of the children's parts with adult actors. It was distracting for a long time.

See it if you like drama, excellent acting and a compelling story in the context of the Northern Ireland "troubles". Get a headset ..

Don't see it if you like light fare, have trouble maintaining attention for 3 plus hours.

Intelligent, Great writing, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if Intense Irish family drama in a traditional early 20th century famkly. The usual drinking and male/female sterotypes. A period pice.

Don't see it if You want a fun time.

Thought-provoking, Intense, Intelligent, Edgy

See it if you have interest in issues of end of life loneliness and desire to control one's own fate. Good dialog. Gradually revealing story-line.

Don't see it if you want a light evening.

Relevant, Ambitious, Intelligent, Absorbing

See it if you want context on the Constitution and women's rights. Heidi's story and writing are clear and relevant. Scripted, seeming spontaneous.

Don't see it if You wanted a "story". This story feeds a philosophical viewpoint not all would appreciate. Definitely feminist in a good way.

Great writing, Great staging, Ambitious, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You like intense family dramas with secrets revealed. Much in the genre of "Death of a Salesman", father and son(s) are the focus.

Don't see it if It can be quite distressing and depressing. While not "typical", it's a metaphor for overly ambitious fathers and projecting on to the son.

Must see, Great staging, Great singing, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if you love 50's music and the story of what's behind an iconic group. You'll be compelled to sing along.

Don't see it if you don't like Juke Box musicals.

Must see, Great writing, Great singing, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if Carol King scored my life growing up. The performances are true and the story compelling.

Don't see it if No reason not to see this one, even if you are "younger".

During previews
Slow, Thought-provoking, Disappointing, Cliched, Banal

See it if like stupid dialog and physical slaptop or incoherent structure.

Don't see it if Intelligent and clever humor performed by really good actors.

Boring, Excruciating, Disappointing, Confusing, Cliched

See it if you have the mind of an 11 year old boy with no taste who likes fart and penis jokes. Nathan Lane and Kristen Nielsen should be embarrased.

Don't see it if You like intelligent, witty, comedy that is cohesive. Or if you like excellent acting.

Thought-provoking, Intense, Ambitious, Absorbing

See it if you like intense biographical exposure. One way show revealing a husband arrested for child porn and the impact on her and family.

Don't see it if Explicit self-revelations of a marriage and a woman transformed.
