If you like this person's taste, follow him!
See it if Film noir meets camp appeal to you (it does for me). Cliche and fluffy are compliments if you know what you're in for with Charles Busch.
Don't see it if You hate camp on any level and can't bring yourself to indulge for a fun entertaining time at the theater
See it if you want to watch two talented actors fill the stage in a sometimes sad, realistic comedic show.
Don't see it if You are expecting a flashy over the top production.
See it if you will enjoy some strong performances about serious topics (with occasional humor). Despite being slow at the top, it's worth it.
Don't see it if Slow pacing the first few scenes will kill any possible enjoyment for you. It takes longer to develop than it should.
See it if You want a fun, thoroughly enjoyable well done musical comedy.
Don't see it if You are expecting something brand new and earth shaking experience.
See it if You want a night out at a usually funny but not perfect show.
Don't see it if You expect perfection and being confused at times will ruin the experience for you.
See it if You want to experience a truly great ape on stage.
Don't see it if You expect a show anywhere close to the level of the ape. Disappointing writing, acting, dancing (out of place) and directing.
See it if you'll enjoy characters beautifully sad to watch (typical T.Williams at least to me). A little slow a little too often, but worthwhile.
Don't see it if you want a light happy go lucky night of theater.
See it if You're okay with a very low key show. Maybe subtle is a better word. It's good, not great and slow at times.
Don't see it if you expect to be blown away and moved out of your seat.
See it if you like original material with a sc-fi slant. Origianl use of video intertwined.
Don't see it if don't want to sit thru something slow at times, a bit boring-not good for a short piece like this. I didn't think the songs added anything.
See it if You will enjoy an old-school classic. Well done, and beautiful to watch and listen to.
Don't see it if Maybe my sights were set to high...I expected near perfection...it wasn't. They tampered with the end via staging (I think & did not like)
See it if you have a night free and want to see theater (okay, good not great).
Don't see it if you are expecting a perfect theater experience.
See it if you want an unique intimate experience, with a few great performances
Don't see it if don't have patience with a play that should be trimmed and some uneven performances.
Also Show had much promise, but left me disapponted leaving the theater
See it if you want to be thoroughly entertained while professionals displaying their craft seamlessly.
Don't see it if a sequel set in late 1800s with 21st century touches (language, bottle water, therapist's box o'tissues) disturb you. BTW, you'd be wrong.
See it if you want to enjoy two masterful performances from the leads.
Don't see it if you expect to be blown away by script and songs (lyrics and melodies).
See it if You are open to new concepts/non-traditional plays or if you know about him already.
Don't see it if You long for traditional plays and will automatically dislike if you don't "get" everything.
See it if Wow, it actually lived up to the hype for me. Not sure I've ever said that before. Stellar performances.
Don't see it if Not sure what to say...it might be emotionally draining (but it was in a good way for me).
See it if You enjoy a well crafted production - writing, staging, acting, singing I did not expect to enjoy a sung-thru-musical as much as I did!
Don't see it if You truly cannot stand a performance that is all sung. (I thought I would not like but it did not bother me as much as I expected).
See it if you can tolerate a very slow moving show (at many points) just to see some excellent acting.
Don't see it if you can't tolerate slow story and indulgent staging at times (what was the director thinking? )
See it if You want to see an attempt to update a classic musical. I enjoyed more than the last bway production (bilingual).
Don't see it if You're a purist. While it enhanced a few scenes, the projections were a big distraction. Some changes were like an attractive misfit shoe.
See it if you enjoy adult content. It was well acted and kept the audience attention over three acts.
Don't see it if you need a happy-ending comedy. While a solid night of theater, it didn't elevate my thoughts about anything.
See it if you'll enjoy good performances -- a mix of some funny and touching moments as well as a plot twist (or two) that could surprise.
Don't see it if you'll become impatient with an often predictable plot. I also had to suspend disbelief somewhat to enjoy. Others may need to do the same.
See it if You like things that are a bit offbeat and enjoy playing along.
Don't see it if You expect perfection. It got a bit slow occassionally and while funny, could have been funnier (although laughs can be slim on Fridays).
See it if The Merman not Mormon play is a hoot at times with some great laughs and voices...
Don't see it if You want perfection...while fun at times, the short show is slow and a little boring at times. Some puns are forced.
See it if You like one-acts, although pieces were uneven IMO, F.Follies=Good; Rape of B.Stuntz=OK; Love Course=Great. Preview, could improve by open
Don't see it if If you expect perfection or have no patience for occasionally slow pace, which 2nd piece was at several points.
See it if You like magic/illusion. Patience needed - show needs to be tightened up big time. Some great bits, but show didn't hold me (was a preview)
Don't see it if Want something expertly polished. Show at about 1:10 with brief break was slow.
See it if you're adventurous and enjoy seeing new things. It is only 65-70 minutes, and there are some nice moments. Main vocal sounded pretty.
Don't see it if You need perfection. Not enough good moments. While voice often sounded beautiful, it didn't mesmerize as it needs to for the play to work.
See it if even if like me and disliked previous productions. In past, I found overrated and confusing, but I loved this intimate concept completely!
Don't see it if Oh, just go see it!
See it if Despite some issues (acting and/or directing choices) the play still works overall, and got to me more emotionally towards the end.
Don't see it if There is a lot of talking by a single person as he translates sign language of others -- it did become grating occasionally.
See it if you would have fun at a one-man (puppet) show. Overall good but needs help at certain points.
Don't see it if you dislike one-man puppet shows that are good but not great.
See it if To see three wonderful performances by these women (and a unique set in act 2).
Don't see it if you need a constant dazzling spectable...while I loved it, maybe it did need an intermission -- I was ready for it to end at a 1:45 runtime.
See it if You are curious about the show and have a good discount.
Don't see it if You loved the original, you don't want to potentially waste $. Just is not well done overall. The few nice moments don't make up for it.
See it if you want to take a shot even if theater in general doesn't thrill you...and there's enough there for theater lovers too.
Don't see it if you are a theater snob and won't give it a shot.
See it if Very effective staging and performances kept me engrossed (despite my lack of interest in rehashing politics/events of that era).
Don't see it if You need you musicals to have elaborate sets and costumes.
See it if You want to see something off-center, non-traditional (but not too far off path).
Don't see it if You only like mainstream plays or you are expecting something flawless.
See it if You're up for mediocre story, acting, and directing for 2 hours. Story does have a point.
Don't see it if You expect a good play with good acting and directing. Point of the story is not impactful as presented.
See it if You'll enjoy a NYC based tale. I'm usually biased against one-man shows but this delivered.
Don't see it if You dislike one-man shows and don't want to take a chance. You'll hate a story about life in NYC.
See it if You enjoy hard working talent executing a fresh a capella approach to near perfection. The intimacy of Circle in the Sq. is great fit too.
Don't see it if A loud early sequence will turn you off or you dislike NYC based stories.
See it if To have a good time. Night I was there, the audience was so enthused I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
Don't see it if Hoping for something that breaks the mold on originality. It's not Hamilton.
