See it if you are a bad parent looking for validation. Acting was mixed with some interesting movement direction and set design. Not really a musical.

Don't see it if you have experience with childhood trauma or are looking for redeeming storytelling. I never believed any of the youth were out of control.

Also In the docu-testimonials, the parents' lack of emotion, empathy, and r... Read more Read less

See it if you like the book, dystopic themes, and intimate spaces. The storytelling convention made this an engrossing, successful adaptation.

Don't see it if you zone out easily, get confused by multiple actors playing the same character or expect the lead to be as strong as the ensemble.

See it if you feel an electric didgeridoo jam session and earnest performances can overcome a complete lack of storytelling and substance. A failure.

Don't see it if the company doesn't completely overhaul the work after previews. There is no journey, metaphorically, transformatively, or psychedelically.

Also Rudimentary projections of fractal images are insufficient. I was expe... Read more Read less

See it if you like pure magic! Inventive, refreshing, lovely theater. The acting will make you laugh & cry. So many memorable moments & characters.

Don't see it if you're an Austen purist. This show nails her satire, but it's so playfully rendered as to poke fun at while uplifting itself.

Also Even if you don't like comedies of manners, period pieces, or "chick l... Read more Read less

See it if you appreciate masterful set design and transcendent, sensitive, hilarious character acting (shout outs to Robby Ramos and Jill Bianchini).

Don't see it if drugs, foul language, anal sex & infidelity offend you. The three leads had heart and nice moments of truth, but their characters were flat.

Also T. Schreiber always picks profound plays and puts up high-value produc... Read more Read less

See it if you like the archetypes of distant father, predatory teacher, anorexic friend & overweight protagonist who lets everyone take advantage.

Don't see it if you want a fresh, authentic experience. The set, sound, and costumes were fine.

Also This is sensitive material that could have been elevated but felt disr... Read more Read less

See it if you like dense language and the principal actor is on (I hear he's mesmerizing and transportive).

Don't see it if the understudy is on. I had to leave early.

Also The technology is underutilized. The piece opens with some cool audio ... Read more Read less

See it if you like adorable musical actors who've mastered multiple instruments & dialects. Touching moments of growing up, loss & yearning for love.

Don't see it if The beautifully detailed, richly textured set contains salvaged objects, such as dismembered dolls. Some of the characters are over the top.

Also I laughed and clapped the whole time. I don't usually love musicals, b... Read more Read less

See it if you appreciate intensity, Irish lore & melodrama or want to be voyeur to a poor incestuous family. Masterful acting, set design & prop work.

Don't see it if Actors play multiple characters, which others found confusing. Trigger warning: mother-son kissing & implied sex, domestic violence & blood.

See it if you love Broadway-level acting, direction, & costume design for off-off prices. (Enlightenment era chamber music mixed with ironic 60s pop;)

Don't see it if you don't like philosophy, religion, fantastical conventions, nonlinear structure, quick scene changes, or festival-style lighting design.

See it if you appreciate excellent video, sound design and puppetry, unique storytelling and comic books.

Don't see it if Some of the characters were better rendered than others with unclear diction & underacting throughout. Script would benefit from major cuts.

See it if For the incomparable John Glover (Pandarus), a commanding Corey Stoll (Ulysses), the hilarious Alex Breaux (Ajax) and exciting stage combat.

Don't see it if Most of the acting was bad, war monologues boring & romance cringe-worthy. Part I was so hard to sit through, I almost left at intermission.

See it if Best straight play I've ever seen on Broadway. Scenic design, acting & choreography are outstanding. An uplifting, innovative spectacle!

Don't see it if You are sensitive to bright lights or disturbed by dead animal imagery, use of live animals & representations of the emotionally challenged.
