See it if You love classic musicals and new takes to make them more powerful for today. Have an appreciation for Jewish culture, history and language.

Don't see it if you don't like reading subtitles. I didn't find it distracting or a challenge at all but if you can't handle it, then its not for you.

Also This is a fantastic show that feels more authentic through their thoro... Read more Read less

See it if you are a fan of anything by or inspired by the works of Amiri Baraka/Leroi Jones.

Don't see it if a two-person play that can feel like an academic conversation at times isn't your thing.

Also This play is an important tribute to an artist whose work defined mult... Read more Read less

See it if you can appreciate a show that understands the intensity & impact of life's experiences live within us consistently and non-chronological.

Don't see it if you aren't up for a play that focuses a lot on grief.

See it if you appreciate talented artists telling integral stories from American history via perspectives that have traditionally been silenced.

Don't see it if you can't recognize the importance of hearing the stories of former enslaved black women, or if forced experimental surgeries is triggering.

Also This production is powerful. I was privileged to see the first public ... Read more Read less

See it if you want or need an understanding and a deeper connection to the layers of the refugee in the US experience.

Don't see it if you are very sensitive to potentially triggering topics. Most people should be able to handle this though. +don't come looking for a comedy.

Also This is a beautiful, powerful, and important play focused on a family'... Read more Read less

December 30th, 2017

See it if you see the value in seeing today's real-world stories through the lens of art. De Novo is a phenomenal docu-theatre experience.

Don't see it if you are only going to the theater looking for an escape from the news of the real world, but this play does offer an opportunity to process.

Also A beautiful piece of art. I highly recommend it.

See it if groundbreaking theater excites you, and you like brilliant designs -down to some of the smallest details and immersive experiences.

Don't see it if immersive theater gives you anxiety and if you don't want to be split apart from your companion during the experience.

Also There are a lot of ridiculously skilled dancers, actors, choreographer... Read more Read less

See it if you are a fan of classic literature brought to the stage.

Don't see it if you are disturbed by a production that make the rape of a 15 year old a line of comedy.

See it if you appreciate powerful, relevant art that will have a real impact on our country.

Don't see it if you are a bit fragile when it comes to talking about race and race relations. This show isn't for the light of heart.

See it if you want to see what has now become a classic and groundbreaking New York theater comedy experience.

Don't see it if you are sensitive to puppet sex, or open discussions and finding humor in talking about racism.

Also I loved the show! It feels very early 2000s' New York City. Lots of cl... Read more Read less
