See it if One of the best Broadway shows I have ever seen. Incredible sets and staging. Unbelievable music. And full of big important ideas.
Don't see it if It is not a straight ahead song-and-dance show, so don't see it if you're not into new forms and ways of storytelling.
See it if The music was excellent, and the story moving and timely, if a bit predictable. But it was not as emotionally resonant as I had expected.
Don't see it if I thought the production values (sets, costumes, sound/lighting) were only average. Also a difficult show to see as a parent.
See it if You are interested in seeing timeless ideas updated for modern times, and strong acting that seamlessly goes from hilarious to profound.
Don't see it if The show is very much inspired by godot, so if that's not your thing you may not like this. but this play is way more than just an update
See it if you like small stories about real people and great (albeit unfamiliar) music.
Don't see it if you prefer a tidy and predictable narrative.
See it if You know exactly what you are getting here. Great production values, awesome sets, decent (if uneven) music, and a rapturous audience.
Don't see it if See above :)
See it if You like going into a show not knowing what to expect. Very unique, very absorbing, very winning show.
Don't see it if You are looking for something more run-of-the-mill--this is a really unique experience.
See it if Despite the presence of primarily screen actors, the cast was really great. Especially Brian Henry. The writing is also very strong.
Don't see it if The show works as a character study but doesn't do a great job of making larger thematic points hit home. Still the 2+ hrs passed quickly.
See it if This is a goofy play that is a lot of fun if you don't mind suspending your disbelief for adult swim-style random humor.
Don't see it if It was a bit long and had (in my opinion) unnecessary attempted moments of gravity amongst the madcap silliness.
See it if the idea of a cocktail party/pop concert/soap opera/light social commentary rolled into one highly entertaining package appeals to you.
Don't see it if you don't want to be on your feet for 2+ hours
See it if Really fun show with really really incredible music, great performances, and just the right amount of insouciance.
Don't see it if The plot wasn't up to the standard of the music. A bit chaotic, and at times felt like a workshop rather than a finished production.
See it if Equal parts amazing tricks and hilarious and entertaining showmanship. Will stay with you for days, even if magic is not your thing.
Don't see it if Only reason not to see this show is if you have a deathly fear of audience participation. Otherwise just go and be amazed.
See it if Searing and poignant truth as acted, directed, and written--especially written--by masters. Every element of human experience is in here.
Don't see it if I can't think of any reason not to see this show. Maybe if you are the kind of person who only likes superhero movies.
See it if you want to be visually entertained and awed by an amazing physical spectacle, coupled with a sweet if not deep story.
Don't see it if you are looking for new ideas--the tropes here are fairly well-worn but presented in an utterly unique and dynamic way.
See it if you find diamonds-in-the-rough appealing. The show is full of ideas and vignettes but does not hold together as well as it might.
Don't see it if you prefer your theater easily digestible. This one takes some work to wrap your head around--and even then there are no guarantees.
See it if You want to see a b'way show with totally original material, really good music, and some heart-wrenching moments.
Don't see it if you are looking for a satisfying story--ultimately, I thought the characters were thin--which is a big flaw in a character-driven show
See it if You liked the movie--the play (rightly) adheres pretty closely to the source material. Or see it if you like goofy guys, cute kids, & music
Don't see it if You are looking for something original, you have issues with loud music, and/or you don't care about adorable and talented kids.
See it if if you want to see an absolutely incredible acting performance that is at once a comedy routine, biography, and history lesson
Don't see it if you don't like your laughs served with a dose of uncomfortable reality
See it if you want your kid to be as enthralled by amazing puppets and production design as they are by what is on a screen.
Don't see it if you don't have kids lol
See it if your most fervent wish is for 30 minutes of peace and quiet. Every kid in the room was absorbed, and most of the parents too.
Don't see it if You are allergic to the adorable.
See it if you want to experience a moving, mesmerizing, heart-stirring lead performance, timeless themes, beautiful writing, and inventive staging.
Don't see it if you're not comfortable with being uncomfortable.
See it if Great acting, great writing, and above all, an incredible physical spectacle. Feels like the actors are enjoying it as much as the audience.
Don't see it if You have trouble following multiple story lines at once, you don't like/get theater jokes, or you simply don't have a sense of humor.
See it if you're in the mood for some empty calories, light laughs, and/or New York in-jokes.
Don't see it if you are looking for a refined production, emotional depth, or much beyond an hour and a half of light but well-done entertainment.
See it if You want to laugh and be entertained, you enjoy plot twists and light absurdism, and if you like to leave with something to mull over.
Don't see it if You are looking for heavy, gut-wrenching drama that tackles the big questions head on.
See it if You don't mind missing large chunks of the show while doubled over in laughter.
Don't see it if You don't like bad words or political irreverence
