Slow, Concise, Good music, Good acting, Enjoyable

See it if You enjoy Frankenstein and want to hear the book read to you - well.

Don't see it if You want something exciting, or a new take on an old story.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
Soho/Tribeca
Refreshing, Masterful, Great staging, Great acting, Delightful

See it if you like clever, fast paced, irreverent story telling that doesn't take itself too serious. Brilliant staging, and quick adaptable actors.

Don't see it if You don't like actors coming into the audience, you want something elaborate or flashy.

Also The actors are wonderfully adaptable, flitting from role to role with ... Read more Read less

The Object Lesson
East Village
Absorbing, Delightful, Dizzying, Masterful, Resonant

See it if You want a simple, artful show that will stay with you. If you want to feel really connected to a room of people and the whole of your life.

Don't see it if You don't like audience interaction (it's done well, no sudden cold-calling), you want a traditional play.

During previews
Resonant, Intelligent, Funny, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if you want something but funny and profound. A story about friendship, love, and physics, beautifully written and superbly acted.

Don't see it if you want something flashy, if you don't like dialogue heavy shows, or want something strictly naturalistic. It's mostly two friends talking.

Also Sometimes it's just nice to watch a deep friendship between two women.... Read more Read less

Indulgent, Thought-provoking, Slow, Resonant, Intelligent

See it if You're interested in British history, you like political stories.

Don't see it if you want something action-packed - it's fairly slow paced and ruminative.

Bad accents, Good acting, Great story, Laggy, Disappointing

See it if you like Oscar Wilde and want the novel read aloud to you.

Don't see it if You don't like very wordy shows, or are irritated by bad British accents.

Fluffy, Great acting, Entertaining

See it if Fun, light, musical version of the play. Well acted, good songs.

Don't see it if You like your Shakespeare more traditional, or want to hear the lines straight - much of the play is rewritten in modern song.

Absorbing, Great acting, Exquisite, Fresh, Lively

See it if You want to see Shakespeare done well. Great play, well acted, with lots of life and energy. Well spoken verse, clear and fun to hear.

Don't see it if You don't like Shakespeare, or only like period Shakespeare.

For a previous production
Funny, Entertaining, Clever, Impressive, Skillful

See it if You want pure silliness and fun. Masterfully choreographed chaos that starts early and builds to a ridiculously massive climax.

Don't see it if You want anything surprising or profound. There's a play. It goes wrong. It's largely predictable. But so well done that that's more than ok
