See it if You want amazing singing, can withstand a story about tolerating/ upholding an abusive relationship from both perspectives, a time piece.
Don't see it if You have strong issues with abusive relationships; can’t sit for longer than an hour.
See it if you like one-man shows, loved the 80s, have a stake in gang culture or want to understand the people in it, see the humanity in urban life.
Don't see it if you don't like one man shows, don't like 80s house music or culture, are still overcoming the loss of a loved one and are emotionally raw.
See it if Conversations about race and rape make you uncomfortable, it’s the only way to go to the next level.

See it if You are open-minded about religious beliefs, cultures & societies different from your own. So many teachable moments left w/ loose ends...

See it if You work with adolescents or raising them so you get a great perspective of their life/world. The adaptation is refreshing but keeps true.

See it if You want to be inspired about LIFE! I cried several times throughout the show in awe of the perseverance of this woman. Cast is amazing.

See it if You enjoy ANY behind the scenes work on stage. The title does not do this workshop justice! You will truly know the how and why of staging.
