See it if you want to see an original, visionary production of this classic play. GREAT ending. Great acting and staging.
Don't see it if You need big, splashy sets and musical numbers to enjoy a Broadway show.
See it if Want to see another production of a musical that's been done a thousand times. The staging and actors' energy was good. I just am over it.
Don't see it if You want to see something refreshing, new, and vibrant.
See it if You like dark stories and a thought provoking story about a woman's position in a world with few choices in life. Great performances, set.
Don't see it if You're looking for a happy show with a happy, fluffy ending. This is dramatic, brooding theater (which I really enjoy)
See it if You enjoy original, offbeat, emotionally fulfilling stories. Great acting (but I thought Pizzolo was less charismatic than Lucas).
Don't see it if You're a close-minded person who thinks gay people are bad, or If you like musicals with melodic songs. My big quibble - the music.
See it if You enjoy the classics of musical theater. I saw this quite some time ago when Bebe Neuwirth was in it. She's a force of freaking nature.
Don't see it if I'd be curious to hear how it's holding up. I think shows get stale after this long on Broadway.
See it if You think "pauses" are so, oh man, natural and just like life.
Don't see it if You like theater that is original and exciting. This was soooooooo slow. I so much wanted to love this. Gravely disappointed.
See it if You have any interest in history, broadway musicals, rap, hip-hop, innovative and revolutionary theater. Simply amazing.
Don't see it if You don't have a pulse or if you insist on talking or texting during a show.
See it if Cherry Jones is a treasure, and the other performers came up to her level. Best scene design, integrating ideas of the play I've seen.
Don't see it if You have no interest in a classic piece of American theater.
See it if You enjoy funny, moving stories about the thorny issues raised by being part of a family, for good or ill, for better or worse.
Don't see it if You only enjoy big, splashy productions. This play has great acting, an excellent scene design and great direction, but no big SFX.
See it if You love Larry David. It's him all over, and it's very funny. In the tradition of the Borscht Belt comedians.
Don't see it if You're looking for a comedy with an edge, like some of Neil Simon's later work (a playwright I'd associate with David).
See it if Of course, the music is great. That staging, set, lighting design, all well done. I gave it a so-so because I did find it a bit "stale."
Don't see it if You like musicals with a well developed story. This is all about the music. After 10 years it needs some goosing. Was just a bit flat.
See it if . . . you love the movie. The music is absolutely wonderful. The great thing about this is the immense creativity on display. Stunning.
Don't see it if You don't have a lot of money. It's expensive! BUT, save your pennies. It's worth it.
See it if If you enjoy seeing something that is totally original, this is for you. It's amazing. Everyone is on their game. Much better than the book.
Don't see it if I can't think of a reason not to see this.
