See it if You want to be wowed with your mouth open at various stages, love magic and/or psychological games.
Don't see it if You can't let yourself go and accept that some people are either fabulous magicians or have real 6th sense abilities.
See it if You love Shakespeare, no matter what, or like cool costumes, 60's tunes and general nice feeling.
Don't see it if You want to understand every word since was rather incomprehensible as a whole.
See it if You want a slightly new take on Nazi/athletic thing going on in the 30's/40's
Don't see it if You're expecting profound revelations or excellent writing (although some of it was very good)
See it if you like thinking about relationship issues, as well as topics relating to one's self-exploration
Don't see it if you want a very strong soliloquy or a very strong one woman show, it's not that, but it's good enough
See it if you love laughing with amazing writing - my laughter came from deep within, really powerful stuff!
Don't see it if you hate absurdist theater
See it if you're in the online dating game and want a breather (and some raucous laughter) from its frustrations
Don't see it if you live under a rock and don't understand the whole online dating scene
See it if you like pizzazz with no real substance, was kinda painful to watch, adolescents would like it
Don't see it if you want a real Broadway show with substance
See it if you're dying to see a remake
Don't see it if You expect a good revival. I can't put my finger on it since the acting and singing were pretty good and staging ok, but it just didn't fit.
See it if you want to really feel and be enveloped by magic throughout the show - the movements, the music, the slow and deliberate cadence and tenor
Don't see it if you want a fast-paced typical Broadway show where there's lots happening at every moment, or are uncomfortable with words you may not know
See it if you like lyrical theater or philosophical writing
Don't see it if you want a linear plot or any semblance of understanding who is what and where at any given moment
See it if you want to be reminded why your relationship didn't work
Don't see it if you're expecting good writing and a thought-provoking theatrical experience; better to see Scenes from a Marriage
See it if You want to hear great dialogue (albeit not in the usual form), wonderful set and garb and like thinking about concepts like beauty, etc.
Don't see it if You want the usual Broadway fare, linear plot, can't stand accents, don't appreciate the path less taken
See it if You love hearing spectacular dialogue and a theme dear to many - integrity
Don't see it if you can't sit thru a normal-length show of yesteryear (2-1/2 hrs with intermission)
See it if You like being uncomfortable about hard issues because the reward is worth it
Don't see it if you want a frivolous play about meaningless issues that will make you laugh
See it if you like the theme (which I did), but it was soooo poorly done that I wouldn't see it again
Don't see it if you like good writing and have discerning taste
See it if You like Vonnegut, amazing acting by all the characters (and I use that word deliberately), a wonderful story, gorgeous sets
Don't see it if you have no ability to get out of your comfort zone and are too PC to enjoy some crudeness
Also A truly WOW theatrical experience!
See it if You like musicals in general - since the music was pretty good (not great by any stretch) - or want to see an example of human foibles
Don't see it if You're expecting a riveting show that hangs well and is absorbing
See it if You have an affinity for Jewish things - songs, lyrics, people, stories, circumstances
Don't see it if You are put off by Yiddish or Jewish stuff
See it if you love the songs Meatloaf is famous for and the guy who actually wrote them, love big impressive sets and want to be moved
Don't see it if you can't take loud music, don't like ballads or want a perfect plot
See it if you want to listen to great actors on their differing approaches to love
Don't see it if you need to see or understand why Johnny loves Frankie since that's the biggest hole in the writing
See it if you love intelligent writing, coupled with a great cast and profound and complex existential issues
Don't see it if you have no patience for intellectual forays into one's psyche
See it if you want to understand S&M more and are interested in interrelationships of any kind
Don't see it if you can't take the subject matter and get easily offended or shocked
See it if you absolutely have to know about her past and the events surrounding her efforts for the women's movement
Don't see it if you want a good script; actors did what they could with it, but if it were any other topic this show would have closed after a few days
See it if you love her songs and want to know some of her history; this is a great Broadway production with all the trimmings
Don't see it if you obviously don't like Cher or musicals generally
See it if you want to see what Sorkin did with the original book and want to see some great acting, especially by Scout who stole the show
Don't see it if you have trouble with the accent and enunciation of some of the actors (I did at times) or are tied to either the book or movie version
See it if You just like science (though trying to explain love thru science is really kinda foolish IMHO)
Don't see it if you're expecting witty dialogue and thought-provoking themes
See it if you like to feel very uncomfortable about relevant topics of the day, want to expand your knowledge base and consider options
Don't see it if you like easy-going fare, made to make you feel good when you leave
See it if You love inter-generational story lines and layer-unraveling coupled with political and romantic themes
Don't see it if You don't want to make an effort to keep up or have no attention span for a 3 hr event
See it if you like good acting even with not so great lines, book doesn't hang well even though there are some clever utterances
Don't see it if you get bored easily and aren't at all interested in existential musings
See it if It was amazing - very witty, while also being very moving. All the actors were fabulous. And the songs were hummable too!
