About:  A professional musician living in NYC. I've spent several years in the musical theatre scene. Since moving to NYC in 2011, seeing Broadway shows has kind of been my thing.

See it if you want to see 2 legends battle it out. They are pretty much the only reason to see this show.

Don't see it if you want big show numbers or a deep, meaningful story. It is pretty lacking in that sense.

Don't see it if you don't want to see nudity. Spoiler: there is a nude dude throughout one scene. Or if you're offended by simulated gay sex.

See it if You love seeing stories of New Yorkers and a cappella music. This show covers some "stereotypical" New York lifestyles and their struggles

Don't see it if You find the lives of New Yorkers dull and mundane. Or if you need an orchestra. There is some profanity (it's NYC, duh!).

See it if you love Mary-Louise Parker like I do. And if you wanna see her give a performance that should give her a Tony nomination (calling it now).

Don't see it if you can't be entertained by 2 people with minimal staging and props. Or if you can't tolerate some vulgarity.

Banal, Disappointing, Great singing, Fluffy

See it if you have a love of Cole Porter. And Sutton Foster. And Joel Grey. Oh, and a great tap number.

Don't see it if you need a show with this show pretty much lacks it.

Delightful, Must see, Great dancing, Funny

See it if you enjoy a big jazz score with lush orchestrations, tight vocal harmonies, and lots of dancing. Some great re-imagining of Berlin's songs.

Don't see it if I can't really think of a reason not to see it. It's new, it's fun, it's full of great music and dancing. And Studio 54 never disappoints!

Delightful, Entertaining, Great singing

See it if you love the music of Edith and Jacques. It is done very well!

Don't see it if you don't know their music and don't know French. It's still great to listen to even if you don't understand it, though. :D

Entertaining, Hilarious, Aumsing

See it if I've seen very little of TGG, but I knew enough to know these boys pretty much nailed the characters. I enjoyed it very much!

Don't see it if you're offended by drag. Or if you dislike small-scale theatre. This is a stage in the back of a restaurant, so don't expect Broadway.

Midtown W
Entertaining, Great singing, Masterful, Skillful, Excruciating

See it if Just go for the Cirque aspect of it. The talent these performers have is phenomenal. Just try to make it through the not-so-great storyline

Don't see it if Cirque isn't enough. The story isn't grand, and a lot of the lyrics are horrendous. But at least the voices are nice to listen to.

Entertaining, Hilarious, Quirky, Great singing

See it if you like flashy shows with lots of dancing. And if you enjoy lots of men in drag. Like, a lot. Or if you like well-written songs.

Don't see it if you're offended by gay things. Or if you don't like Cyndi Lauper. Or if you don't like to have a good time.

See it if You love classic musical theatre. And Kelli O'Hara. And a full orchestra. But especially Kelli O'Hara. And kids. And Kelli O'Hara.

See it if This is like a white version of The Color Purple. In a great way. The ensemble sound is great. The leading lady is fantastic. Go see it!

Don't see it if You don't necessarily care for bluegrass/folk type music. But I would still highly recommend it to all. And it's family friendly.

Banal, Dated, Disappointing, Tired

See it if you are like me and just want to see all the shows. But this show just seems tired. It's only still open because tourists know the title.

Don't see it if eh, it's just old and tired. it needs revamping. I wouldn't suggest avoiding it, but it's not my first recommendation.
