See it if If you're familiar with ALICE, you'll love this... and if you only know "I'm late, I'm late" (per white rabbit), you'll do just fine! MUSIC!
Don't see it if All the naysayers here DO have a point... if one is stuck in R&H musicals (or Lerner & Lowe.) BUT HIGH AIMS are challenging; pays off here!!
See it if You've ever experienced joy in a marriage or other relationship. This is unconditional love ... but with enough of an arc to be gripping!
Don't see it if You're a big fan of the Die Hard series of movies.
See it if This is so different from what 90% of the people attending 90% of what's reviewed on S-S SEE - in entirely good ways - that it is MUST SEE!
Don't see it if You deplore being dubiously manipulated, however good the cause. (more on that in overflow) I'd also criticize St.A for anti-audience things
See it if (what I thought was an) interesting idea, reasonably well executed.
Don't see it if Your standards are higher than that ... or you just know that anything about anybody "royal" will bore or annoy you.
See it if You like "ripped from the headlines" pieces ... and ones with some non-TV plusses.
Don't see it if You like a plot that isn't riddled with implausibilities - really, worse - things that are bizarre ... esp. for the characters here!
See it if are open to what might have been a total bummer actually having lots of humor.
Don't see it if you hate theater that might have been (appropriately) aired on "Lifetime." The writing & plotting are sub-par for Roundabout/big league.
See it if want to see humor mined from some unlikely places. Fine acting, terrific set. I think this was improv2script - very impressive!
Don't see it if you're in a hurry. As others have noted, while the careful detailing has charm and value, how much is too much?
See it if You enjoy one-person shows ... and/or a bit of history, well-told & portrayed
Don't see it if You're a little prudish or aren't used to an audience more likely than most to "act out."
See it if You go to the theater to see things almost TOTALLY undoable on TV or even in the movies.
Don't see it if [the standard show-score line] You don't go to the theater to be challenged in any way.
See it if are wild about shows that take chances - almost regardless as to how "successful" that proves to be.
Don't see it if You're unlikely to enjoy a show that feels like 2 plays, neither of them very compelling, were "smooshed together," just for Blk Hist Month.
See it if You think even the worst possible work by a capable playwright can teach you something.
Don't see it if You're looking for good theatre - this is what happens now that Sig. is wedded to a tired formula. Only 1 worthy one? What else do you have?
See it if I'm sure there's lots on TV that's more or less comparable. Folks who watch 3-5 series and 20+ hours a week will probably like this show.
Don't see it if You have higher standards for "live theater" - ESPECIALLY if you expect that the non-profits "vet" the scripts and pass on inchoate ones.
See it if You trust Playwrights H. to spot talent and put on good shows.
Don't see it if It improves a ton from the 2nd preview, where I saw it. I'm with the crowd here - non-gay or lesbian audience members are fish-out-of-water!
See it if You love musicals - esp. ones with something new to say & sing. Also, see it if musicals are not your "go to," BUT you've enjoyed some prevl
Don't see it if You are particularly prickly - seems like that's a NY epidemic, judging from other comments - about being "manipulated."
See it if you like well-constructed plays that make you think.
Don't see it if N/A.... Well, if you have or almost have PTSD from something ghastly in your past (war being the most likely & sensitive), miss this. BUT...
See it if either like - because of the charm - or aren't put off by "black and white" as in VERY "old school" material... when it's well done as here!
Don't see it if "Cats" is your idea of good theater.
See it if If you read others' reviews, you see that some simply grade TOO TOUGH and others "couldn't handle" these truths. (That's my take.)
Don't see it if You're a thinking person who can't brace yourself well for some of the toughest theater (its CONTENT) that you'll ever see. But otherwise GO
