Also As a queer person in a LGBTQ+ London community choir I found this show painfully relatable and absolutely hilarious. You're absolutely charmed by the characters in the first half with exceptionally whitty writing and surprising amount of bum bum do dah singing you'd expect for a show about the choir. The second half tore apart the pleasantries and exposed some conversations that of you're in the LGBT community I guarantee you've been having over the last few years if not forever. The play covers a broad spectrum of issues through its characters stories with everyone being pulled apart. Fantastic casting and accessible writing making it fun for the whole chosen family. Also I loved loved the first half. A powerful introduction of our main woman Mary and their story, fast forward to modern day NHS and the Care industry. A wonderfully uncomfortable and challenging picture of a white middle class daughter, now mother, with her elderly MOTHER in a home on a visit. Don't see it if Just because you really really liked that one song from the show, just listen to the soundtrack with Julie Atherton.

Also It's not the casts fault. There are some really good singers there. The two supporting cast overacted the whole way through whole the rest looked a little bored and stumbled over the script. Staging and repetitive motifs are cliche and overdone and very distracting. No new take on the show and nothing on the previous Southwark production although it's probably not fair to compare to pros like Julie and Cynthia. See it if Want to see a refreshed take on a show full of stereotypes? Loved the positive empowerment of Six the musical? This is a fun revisit!

Also Legally Blonde at the Regent's, directed by Six the Musicals Lucy Moss is a refreshed revisit to a done bimbo tail. Massive kudos for the amazing casting, gone are the days of identical tall, slim and cis ensembles. Lots of subtle not so subtle hints to six with thr grecian gurl chorus backing Elles endlessly positive and girl power decisions throughout the show.
