Great great singing, Enchanting, Great acting, Entertaining, Clever

See it if Kelli O'Hara is always fabulous both her acting and her sublime voice. Rest of the cast was excellent, too...and choreography was inspired

Don't see it if You don't like back of theatre musicals or Cole Porter. It's silly, of course, but so much fun. Much better than I expected!

Dizzying, Ambitious, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if Brilliant acting all around, but Glenda Jackson's presence and power packed into an 82 year old body embodies Lear. So prescient of today.

Don't see it if If you don't love Shakespeare, though even without knowing the language, these actors brought King Lear into full life and easily understood

See it if Glenda Jackson, one of my favorite theatre and film artists, back at 81 in a genius performance! Laurie Metcalf, fresh from Oscar, great!!

Don't see it if You don't like plays and great actors at the top of their game.

Ambitious, Disappointing, Intelligent, Overrated

See it if I went thinking I would absolutely love this, but found it less absorbing than expected and I love serious plays. Beautiful music/acting

Don't see it if You like splashy big musical numbers. I think this would have been much better in the smaller theatre...but NY Times gave it a rave.

Clever, Entertaining, Great singing, Great staging

See it if Bette Midler was hilarious and wonderful to watch, as was David Hyde Pierce and the rest of the cast. Real old broadway feeling.

Don't see it if You don't like full-on Broadway musicals from the past.

Absorbing, Great acting, Intense, Must see

See it if You want to see an extraordinary performance by a great actress. Harrowing and excruciating but worth the pain. Brilliantly staged

Don't see it if You can’t imagine going through addiction recovery as a play. Want something light. This is gutwrenching

See it if you love to see great acting. I saw Cynthia Nixon as Birdie and she was phenomenal as was Laura Linney as Regina. I liked the play, too.

Don't see it if You want to see something light-hearted.

Disappointing, Dated, Overrated, Slow

See it if You want to see a minor Arthur Miller play with some good acting. I actually didn't like Danny de Vito at all and was shocked by Tony nom

Don't see it if You want to see great drama, then go to Oslo.

Entertaining, Great acting, Absorbing

See it if You want to see an incredible performance by Glenn Close and wonderful co-stars as well. She acts up a storm and sings beautifully too.

Don't see it if You don't appreciate an old style musical.

See it if Terrific story….like a combination of a Jane Austen and a thriller. Watching Keira Knightley's character change was thrilling. Not slow!

Don't see it if you don't like serious drama.

Absorbing, Ambitious, Entertaining, Great staging, Intense

See it if You like immersive theatre. Willing to spend hours exploring a world that is so vividly created and different each place you move to.

See it if You love Kelli O'Hara and if you want to see a beautifully restaged version of the original show. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance.

Don't see it if Don't like musicals that are somewhat old-fashioned in script. However, this show tells a story that is for all time.

Great acting, Clever, Funny, Entertaining

See it if The cast was hilarious....I enjoyed watching all of them interact, and our entire front orchestra section was roaring. Taylor Mac, a genius

Don't see it if You are not open to physical comedy, and body parts....I read the horrible reviews here and disagree that it was childish (i.e. fart jokes)

Also will either be hated or loved in the writing of this political comment... Read more Read less

See it if Such a relevant brilliant play with masterful acting especially by the three leads. Annette Bening was glorious and present in each moment.

Don't see it if You don't want to be exposed to greed and corruption in families that might remind you of our current government.

Clever, Absorbing, Intelligent, Relevant, Thought-provoking

See it if I really enjoyed the story, the thoughtful and thought-provoking focus on race, affirmative action, and personal ambition. Acting!

Don't see it if Serious topics around race issues make you uncomfortable.

See it if Excellent performances. Good play on very relevant meaningful topic. Enjoyed it so much! Jamie Brewer, who has Down Syndrome, was great.

See it if You want to see an innovative fabulously sung "operetta" that applies to our political reality today in many ways. I LOVED it.. Cast!!!!

Don't see it if You don't like outrageous, cursing, mostly sung opera style plays. But take courage and go anyway.

Banal, Disappointing, Overrated, Slow

See it if You absolutely love Cheryl Strayed's Dear Sugar books (which I do) and don't expect much more than a nicely staged reading of the Q & A's.

Don't see it if It just didn't have, to my great surprise, great depth or feeling (others in audience were crying) and didn't build. Cast was good.

See it if You love Amy Shumer and the rest of the hilarious cast. We laughed hysterically and totally enjoyed every moment. Sit up close if you can.

Don't see it if You want a profound piece of theatre. This was ridiculous and hilarious. Laugh out loud comedy enhanced by terrific performances.

See it if Brilliant musical with Ben Platt and the rest of the cast astonishing. The direction, set, everything perfect. I found it deeply moving

Don't see it if You like light fluffy Broadway type musicals. This show is unlike anything I've seen except maybe Curious Incident or Next to Normal.

See it if You want to see excellent acting (Harvey was amazing as were the other cast members) and see an unusual story about loving gay men.

Don't see it if You are homophobic or disinterested in the topic of LGBT life. Very personal story-telling isn't your thing.

See it if A genius of a show. Best show I've ever seen, beyond the hype. Brilliant performances, staging, and Lin Manuel Miranda is just incredible.

Don't see it if You don't like musicals or hip hop/rap...though this is so far beyond anything I've ever seen or experienced. Would see it again and again

84
Clever, Entertaining, Great acting, Hilarious, Thought-provoking

See it if you are interested in interventions, race, reality tv as a phenomenon, twists and turns. I found it thoughtful, funny, wise, and playful.

See it if You want to be astonished by a story and staging that gets you deeply into the head of the main character. Very beautiful, intense show.

Don't see it if You want a traditional story told and a light night in the theatre.

Clever, Absorbing, Ambitious, Great staging, Must see

See it if I can't imagine anyone not loving it unless they are homophobic (like the students at Duke who refused to read the book this year).

Don't see it if You don't want to be astonished by great performers, terrific music/lyriscs, and an emotionally raw and honest script
