Cyrano de Bergerac
Midtown W
Absorbing, Riveting, Resonant, Romantic, Intense

See it if you enjoy competence and wordplay. You'll be absorbed by the protagonist.

Don't see it if you're not a fan of love stories of any kind. It's a classic for a reason.

Henry V
Ambitious, Epic, Intense, Profound, Resonant

See it if you want to understand why classics become classic. Politics are one thing, but underlying humanity informs everything anyone does.

Don't see it if you're going to fall asleep. You'll miss it, and then you'll regret it. See it when you're wide awake.

Spellbinding, Resonant, Dizzying, Profound, Masterful

See it if you are interested in the workings of the human psyche. No other play explores the interaction of love and ambition so masterfully.

Don't see it if you are afraid of ghosts. The shade in this play is the kind of regret we all have, and the protagonist doesn't escape it.

Midtown W
Great staging, Thought-provoking

See it if you're interested in dance, or, weirdly enough, poetry. It's about cats, but it's T.S. Eliot, and despite the mysterious plot it's profound.

Don't see it if you have no patience for mysticism. It has no driving narrative but the concept of catness and a leader's kidnapping. It's not storytelling.

Twelfth Night
Absorbing, Clever, Delightful, Entertaining, Funny

See it if you want to laugh your face off and also tear up with sympathy at the bizarre hijinks of a society that amounts to another world.

Don't see it if you're a sourpuss. You might not laugh, and it deserves to be laughed at.

Clever, Epic, Intelligent, Hilarious, Intense

See it if you want to understand growing up, both as an individual and as a nation. One person can change himself so much, and can change a country.

Don't see it if you don't enjoy puns. Nah, see it anyway. It's worth it.

Julius Caesar
Midtown W
Absorbing, Epic

See it if You are at all interested in history, especially Elizabethan and Roman. It explores both the personal and the political, and nails both.

Don't see it if you have trouble with the English language; there is a lot to comprehend here. Actually, do see it. You'll be overwhelmed, but learn a lot.

Intense, Profound

See it if you've never seen a show. It's an amazing one to start with. Never besides Cirque du Soleil has a world been so absorbing and encompassing.

Don't see it if your heart is made of stone. I really can't think who wouldn't like this show.
