Don't see it if You like a plot and traditionally acted theatre. It's refreshing to see the guest actor be intrigued and clueless and we "get it" together.
See it if You're a fan of Michael C. Hall who is personable, funny gets the timing perfect just addressing the audience.
Don't see it if You don't like shows with no plot and no climax and makes you think about the message of the play.
See it if You're interested in a woman's story and how she survived a return of a machismo relationship with humor, grit and singing.
Don't see it if You don't like broad characterizations and stereotypes of male female relationships.
See it if You're interested in exploring the issue of autism in a creative and extremely empathetic prism.
Don't see it if You are Uncomfortable with someone who is obviously having a difficult time, you are initially put off you and end up totally cheering.
See it if You like good writing acted by 2 very good performers. Affecting and still timely, funny, restrained and not weepy.
Don't see it if You're homophobic or maybe you should. It may change your mind.
See it if You love great singers and a strong ensemble. Each actor was strong in his own character.
Don't see it if You expect traditional Shakespeare.
See it if You are Asian or had a Jewish mother. A fond riff on a overbearing, imperfect but colorful mother. Remembrances through skit and song.
Don't see it if You don't t like violin music as accompaniment, or loud independent women.
See it if You want a hilarious first hand perspective of growing up biracial. I was touched by how he shared his political awakening to prejudice.
Don't see it if You are sensitive to racism and don't enjoy joking about it. Or feel self conscious and uncomfortable with exploring the race issue.
See it if You would like it if your sympathies lie with the downtrodden youth of America and you like edgy ethnic humor & being an involved audience.
Don't see it if You don't like abrupt unexplained endings.
See it if You're interested in immigrant experience; this one was hardly typical, told from a position of privilege, until it becomes a liability.
Don't see it if You expect a nuanced script and characters.
See it if You want to explore black history through the eyes of a few individuals in a very strong performance, and wonderfully staged.
Don't see it if You hate one man performances.
