The Originalist
Midtown E

for a previous production "After much back and forth...the dialogue, the debate, takes on the subject of the Defense of Marriage Act. And there's no letting it go...The same arguments are made repeatedly...Where 'The Originalist' loses momentum is when Brad starts a food fight with Cat. The scene is totally unnecessary, a director's self-indulgence...Whether audiences in cities other than Washington...will have the sitzfleisch for 105 minutes of dueling ideologies remains to be seen." The Liar
East Village

for a previous production "Ives's adaptation of Corneille's comedy is such fun you won't want to miss a word. Especially if you enjoy word play, sword play, foreplay, irony and physical humor. Corneille and Ives have concocted a farce that maintains the charm and look of French costume drama in English language that is contemporary, very accessible and in pentameter!...The cast works very well as an ensemble thanks to Kahn whose direction keeps the words and actions tumbling at a good pace." for a previous production "'Gigi' is both quaint and slick...Director Eric Schaeffer has assembled a winning team in bringing this show with mesmerizing imagery to the stage. The scenery is exquisite, the lighting is perfection, one visual treat after another. And the! If 'Gigi' seems a bit slick, so what? Pop the cork for "The Night They Invented Champagne" and much else. It is bubbly entertainment." Full Review
