Forgettable, The story felt existentially tired, as if the world has moved on from small time american drama, Actors were good individually but as an ensemble they lacked the magic chemistry to make this production successful, Underwhelming

See it if You have yet to see a staging of this classic Sam Shepard's play.

Don't see it if You saw the 2015 Broadway production of this play starring Sam Rockwell. If you have a good memory, you'll be too tempted to compare them.

Also Filtering this play using 2019 lenses, it felt irrelevant and wasteful... Read more Read less

A perfect example that history is made by overlooked and often forgotten events, Wow, a president who actually read and had a moral compass and a code of ethics - how quaint!, No quid-pro-quo on this one!, Original!

See it if You hold a very slim hope that a normal un-treasonous US presidency is still possible, where Russia's dirty tactics are nowhere in sight.

Don't see it if You think the 45th US Presidency is the "greatest and best ever...!" Nothing will penetrate as grand a self-delusion as that!

Also This play is righteously weighted down by historical context but to gr... Read more Read less

Two monologues like two ships in the night that never meet, A pointless exercise in filtering female experiences through male narratives, A wasteful use of two good actors, Disappointing

See it if you wish to hear two more white male emotional woe-me unburdening perspectives fully aware of their stridently missing female counterparts.

Don't see it if you don't like confessional monologues that feel lifted from a psychiatrist's therapy session.

Also A thoroughly disappointing theatre exercise. ... Read more Read less

An Enchanted April
Midtown W
I suspect most men will find it banal and boring, An obliquely feminist in-a-genteel sort-of-way musical, Lovely...for jane austen fans, Enchanting

See it if You like retro, mild-themed female anchored musicals that barely hint at a future feminist movement but fall short of it as they are.

Don't see it if You tend to fall asleep as soon as the lights go down, who at intermission complaints that there's too much talking, not enough singing.

Also I liked this musical. It satisfied my periodic Jane Austen craving. Th... Read more Read less

A well-written and acted play, The set designs are attention grabbing, An emotional journey, It pulls you in and doesn't let go!

See it if You enjoy plays about conflict, memory, and what lies beneath the human psyche which drives all that we are and do.

FEAR
West Village
Loved andrew boyce's realistic set design, Echoes of hbo's true detective series, Thought-provoking, A tale of three lives on the cusp of fear

See it if you enjoy apparently simple plays with profound moral intellectual implications to modern society

Don't see it if nuances in human behavior fly over your head and nothing will ever shake you from your righteous stance.

God's Necklace

Loved the venue and the beautiful vocal sounds heard at the beginning and middle of play, which successfully transported audience to south sudan, Profound, The play, though well-intentioned, takes on way more material than the audience can absorb, Introduces the concept of a heterosexual marriage between two women, Engrossing!!!

See it if you are a globally aware citizen who is up on South Sudan's struggle of its multi-tribes + the war that brought about independence in 2011.

Don't see it if you are a misogynist and a MAGA concept supporter.

The music is timelessly beautiful!, It's empowering to women, Refreshing, Great singing, It's what we go to broadway to see!

See it if you often find yourself happily humming a tune and not much gets you down. Also, if you tend to be a pessimist and are often anxious.

Like a diabetic in a male-voice candy shop, Great singing, Entertaining, Delightful

See it if the Motown sound makes your brain happy, like it does mine. There are so many amazing singers in this show that it's hard to keep track.

When will we learn history’s lessons?, Seems to ask: does this ring a bell in the current us state of affairs?, Discovered at the edinburgh fringe festival, but speaks eloquently of modern society’s dangerous return to intolerance, white supremacy, racism and violence., Brilliant, Hard-hitting!

See it if You want to see an African American actress disappear before our eyes, and a German Jewish Olympic hopeful athlete take her place.

Don't see it if You thrive best in the literal world and can’t make the sophisticated leap the playwright and director ask of the audience.

Subtle yet profound!, A play that will help to frame the lgbtq movement from a historical perspective, A play about unspoken family truths, regrets and denials

See it if you like subtle drama plays that help to frame the LGBTQ arch: from non-existent in the 50s to a respected multi-faceted identity today.

Don't see it if you have no interest in plays that deal with LGBTQ identities in a non-direct, read-between-the-lines kind of way.
