Intricately weaves the narrative of Ruby and Wilson, a couple emblematic of enduring love in the African American context. Amidst their seemingly perfect life, the play delves into the disruption caused by the tragic loss of Ruby's friend's husband, an unarmed black man, to a white police officer's quick trigger. As Wilson, also a police officer, grapples with the controversies of his profession, Ruby implores him to break free from the confines of societal expectations. Frustrated with her perceived entrapment in a 'Huxtable-like existence,' Ruby pushes Wilson to unveil his true self. Unbeknownst to him, she secretly crafts a plan to address America's pervasive gun problem, offering a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the quest for authenticity in the face of societal challenges.
