Entertaining, Relevant, Resonant, Thought-provoking

See it if you like Roger Miller's music or are interested in a musical version of Huckleberry Finn.

Don't see it if you're in the mood to see a light entertainment.

Clever, Great acting, Great singing, Quirky, Slow

See it if You Live good singing in a country and bluegrass style. Leads are wonderful

Don't see it if Act one is sweet but simplistic. Act two muddled.

Entertaining, A country-fied 10-piece on-stage orchestra,, Gospel-inflected slave-chorus feature fantastic soloists, Mark twain's comedic words still resonate today!, Roger miller's haunting (& also comedic) music gets better w/ every song!

See it if A country-fied orchestra, a Gospel-ly Slave-chorus, Mark Twain's words, Roger Miller's songs, & a game cast make this THE entertainment pick

Don't see it if If U dislike all of the above elements or U don't like being pressured into seeing it by the 12th (Broadway transfer PLEEZ!!). Use of N-word

Slow, Relevant, Great singing

See it if you enjoy great performers, sparse props and scenery, musicals narrated by the main character, ballads, and soft sweet musicals.

Don't see it if you are looking for a fast paced musical with mostly an uptempo score, showstopping dance numbers, or grandiose staging. Read more

Great singing, Relevant, Entertaining, Great acting, Ambitious

See it if you love the Encores format of a bare-bones revival of shows that need to be seen again, you enjoy country/blue-grass and you love Twain.

Don't see it if you're expecting a full production (although this was pretty close), you're not a fan of Twain or Roger Miller. Read more

Heartfelt, Great singing, Inventive semi-staging, Lots of talent

See it if You liked Bright Star and Bridges of Madison County; this is a similar bit of Americana with a pleasant score and fantastic singing.

Don't see it if You're looking for a "great American classic" score that you'll be humming for days, or if you expect a fully-staged performance.
